I haven't read the reviews yet, but I have absolutely no clue why this place doesn't have 5 stars.
John is the *ONLY* person I trust to do my nails. First of all, it's a quiet space. And it's spacious (necessary, especially during a global pandemic). It's calm there. John and Trinh have the most calming energy. I've gone in holding back frustrated tears, enraged by customers, mad at the world--I've never left upset. Almost immediately, I feel safe and calm. That's because of the people that work here.
Now, I'm a little bit odd with what I get done. Natural-looking fake nails (powder), and pedicure that, again, is natural. I usually don't get color, nor designs, but have before and have never been anything other than smitten with the results. If I want a change, they don't get mad or snappy with me (as others have in other local nail salons), they don't tell me I'm wrong about a matte finish (other local salons have told me matte finishes are supposed to be shiny, and have gotten snappy with me when I'm like "that's just not true, my dude")--they're open, and gentle, and kind.
I love this place. Other than the river, it's the only thing I like and miss about Fredericksburg.
They've only ever shown me kindness, and they've only ever been happy to help me walk out with exactly what I want.
All you have to do is ask--they got you.
10/10 recommend, and that's a rare endorsement coming from me.
ALSO: i got a mani-pedi here in under an hour, so if you're looking for speedy maintenance and efficient pampering--definitely check this place out.

I came here the other day with my mom. She got a pedicure and I got a manicure. The lady who did her pedicure was amazing !! ….but the guy who did my manicure was not. all of the nails were different shapes and he couldn’t even do the design i wanted. i changed to a solid color instead & he couldn’t do that either. the color was very blotchy. he didn’t ask how short i wanted or how long i wanted my nails. my mom had to repaint them because they were so bad. go to venus nails instead ! they fixed it for me. do NOT come here unless it’s for the lady!

Very disappointing. The “spa pedicure” took 15 minutes before polish. I haven’t had a pedicure in 2 years because of covid and I was so excited. She barely cleaned the nail bed, used a scant amount of the mineral mask on the front of my shins, peeled the wax off my feet after 60 seconds max. Everything was extremely rushed. The worst pedicure I have ever had. It cost me $55 plus $5 for French polish.

I went in to get my nails done and for the second time I was left wanting more. The tech that did my nails didn't care about the shape of my nails or the fact that he used an insane amount of acrylic on my nails and seemed annoyed when I asked him to make them look presentable. The staff seemed nice, but as time goes on, nail trends change, and attention-to-detail goes far. I had to shape my own nails when I got home.

Coming to this nail salon is like being welcomed as a family member. Jean and her husband John, work so hard to consistently give great service and to make you feel at home and relaxed. Jean is excellent at giving pedis! She has a great smile and it has been a pleasure getting to know her over the past years I’ve been going there. My husband has made friends with John, too. Prices are are a great value considering the expertise they offer. Tell them Amy sent you! You won’t regret giving them a try.
