Love First Star!! They can always get me in immediately and every person I’ve had is super friendly! Willing to chit chat if you want, but will also just leave you be to relax. Their rates are comparable to those in the area. Stop in, you won’t be disappointed!

Boy did they see us coming ... we emphasized that we did NOT want 'gel' polish, just regular nail polish for two G-Daughters (... not much nail to polish to begin with). I was charged $20/G-Daughter ... JUST POLISH ... no manicure; no gel. Silly me, I paid it ... plus gratuity!!! (After leaving the shop, the young man polishing my youngest G-Daughter's nails had cut into her skin beyond the cuticle.) After we met my third G-Daughter for lunch, we all went back to First Star Nail for her nails to be polished. The staff directed her to different color selection ... not until I paid for her nails being polished for $8 ... I asked why the huge difference in cost (they were ALL on their cellphones ... they informed me '... we asked for gel earlier' ... SERIOUSLY!!!! NOR ARE THE SELECTIONS AT THE FRONT COUNTER MARKED "GEL" ... POOR, POOR BUSINESS ETHIC!!!!! They got our money once ... N*E*V*E*R* AGAIN!!!

Can’t say enough about how nice everyone is and what a great job they do! My mother deals with a movement disorder and they go out of their way to accommodate her each time. Anyone I see there does an excellent job with my nails also. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

I’ve been to several nail salons in Shawnee over the years. My neighbor recommended I try this one. I’ve been several times now and of them beat First Star when it comes to consistent quality and customer service.

I will never go anywhere else! I live in Lee's Summit, but I make the drive to First Star because it is the BEST! It is clean, friendly, and very competitively priced. Everyone smiles and works efficiently, yet thoroughly.
Last weekend, I needed a new full set of acrylic tips. The old ones had to be removed, and I was kind of worried it would hurt. Linh was great, though! She does fantastic work, and listens to what the customer wants. I highly recommend this salon!
