I love J Nails. They do a great job especially on the nail designs. Every design I have wanted they were able to do. Very friendly.

I had heard about it from a friend. At first it was really good. I came with my mother and sister. We came to get a full set and a pedicure. We walked right in and get seated for a pedicures. I was confused when the lady next to me got more rubbing and got an actual hot towel put on her legs, when we didn’t. My sister goes before me and gets her full set on and turns around highly unsatisfied after he had already clipped the plastic nail off for sizing purposes and didn’t asked her the length she wanted. After he had already continued doing them she asked kindly if there was anyway to make them longer since he didn’t ask her. (She wanted them a lot longer) He replied with a no, sorry. So she was already aggravated about that. Then she tells the guy doing her nails what color she wanted and he replies saying it’ll wash her out and picks a new color for her. She goes with the color and all in all hates her nails. I however had a lady. She was very nice at first, very helpful. Then during it, it seemed her whole demeanor had changed. I had 2 different options I told her I wanted. She said let’s go ahead and start and you think about it. A friend called during, right about when she was cutting the length and I rushed to hang up the call to make sure I had the length I wanted. I was continually asked over and over if I wanted Gel or Shellac, and I repeatedly told her kindly no thanks. (Which I think she got whatever about) I then go to pay and made sure I just got a full set and had them just painted so I could pay minimal after all of this. I handed my card over to the guy and say $30 right? And he goes $35 for length. I said hm? And he replied saying I got longer so it’s $5 more. Now I know it’s $5 and I’m not trying to be cheap, it’s just after everything and me not evening asking for longer, I was highly unimpressed....I won’t be coming back. I’ve heard good things about this place, which is why I went, I just had a bad experience.

Went here as we’re new to town and it has the highest rating on google. It wasn’t busy and we showed up about 1.5 hours before close as I’d called ahead to see if we needed to make a reservation and was told to just come on in. Great! (That’s the only reason I’m leaving two stars.) We arrive and open the door to a puppy barking obnoxiously like puppies do. Kids rough housing with eachother and playing with puppy, engaging my husband and I. Not the worst thing, thankfully we’re dog people. The dog is definitely a health code violation and kind of annoying as we had just driven our own toddler 2 hours to grandma’s so that we could have some quiet time together. Husband works out of state for months at a time so we don’t see eachother often, let alone get to spend time enjoying a peaceful pedicure. Oh well, such is life. The pedicure went over fairly well as far as the purpose of filing and cleaning the foot. Nail file, buffer, and pumice stone were recycled from previous clients; health code violation. I had brought my own professional brand polish and was told it was too sheer to use, the polish he matched for me was ok but dried almost white. I can deal. He turns on the toe fans and lays a towel in the floor, doesn’t offer flip flops so I have to walk barefoot on the tile with lotioned feet- pretty gross. Upon trying to get out the the pedicure chair, the arm of the chair slips and I slip, budging a spot on a big toe. I mentioned my fault and he told me to sit at the dryer and he’d fix it. I felt guilty even though there weren’t any customers waiting and he’d sat down to look at his phone. Instead of removing the 4 goopy layers of messed up polish and repainting one toe, he added three more coats to the messy toe. I thought about asking him to remove it and just do that one toe completely over, but when he came to fix it he set the polish jar down like he was pretty annoyed at me, so I didn’t mention it. I sat there for about 10 minutes under the fans before I slid my own sandals on and my husband paid, tipped well. We stopped at the grocery across the street on our way home and I noticed smeared polish on my skin. I went to wipe with my finger nail to see if it was what I thought and my whole toenail was still sopping wet. I’d budged it again. Pretty annoying knowing polish should be dried after ten minutes under a fan. Knowing this, I was careful not to let it touch anything. We get home and TWO hours later, I go to put on a closed toe shoe to be outside. This problem nail’s polish is STILL soft to the touch. I push gently and smear the whole nails polish, still wet, of with my thumb. I proceed to remove all of the polish as I don’t have a matching color of my own and I’m not going back to pay for a repaint. Too many strikes for paying for a service as well as leaving a tip to ever think about going back. Having a cosmetology license myself, I tried to be fair. However, I can’t justify the list of broken codes and the lazy paint job. Bummed to have to leave a bad review, but I won’t be getting that pretty amount money back for better service.
