Why did I negate to read the Google reviews before walking in the door of Lamour Nails Spa? Although my instincts as a Business Strategist told me there was an internal problem I was 3 weeks past my usual mani pedi routine. Ask yourself what business specifically a service based business has only 4 staff working on a Friday evening. I actually asks before sign in in are you taking walk ins you look short staffed. Second clue blank stares. As many nail and pedicure chairs as they have I would calculate Labor to Customer ratio should dictate a minimum of 8 staff. To lend credibility to this thought there was one woman waiting and I ask her how long had she been waiting. She stated 45 minutes. An additional 15 mimutes passed before she is serviced. I say all of that to say time has value and is a precious commodity becasue you can never get time back. Money has a specific value and from Lamour Nails I want both my time and money back because my spa pedicure is the fifth worst I have ever had and three of the worst occurred out of the USA. How bad was my pedicure well the woman might be training to be a magician as she is slight of ✋ hand...it was as if she weren't bothering to touch my feet. I am not sure If I had a pedicure. Since 1990 I have had no additive on my nails (except I went through a 4 month spell a few years back wearing shellac polish) Never again. My routine is a manicure every 8 -9 days a polish change 4 days out. Why? Because I only wear Bubble Bath a natural translucent opague pink. When applied correctly the color and look is polished and elegant but should be changed every 4 days. When applied wrong the appearance can be that of cement which was not poured correctly streaky, thick and gooey. My polished nails were atrocious. When I questioned her asking if maybe the polish was either old or needed to be thinned out a bit (which happens)her response, "It will be okay once I put top coat on." Not! How do you think a top coat counteracts a bad polish job. Again a waste of my time. Of course at the end my feet looked liked the mess I walk in but with pretty hot pink polish. ( Full disclosure I take dance and walk the beach (sand is horrible ) and I wear heels say Jimmy Choo/ Louboutin / almost everyday. Heels are Hell on your feet which at a minimum is a great reason for a pedicure twice a month and it had been 3 weeks and I clip, and pick,at my cuticle. At the end and $45 later and a tip because they ask you to pay before polishing so I had already tipped. Never again from now going forward either I ain't tipping or I am waiting until I am dry. She said, "Do you want me to polish again. " My answer, "Oh no I really want to walk out wearing pink cement on my hands." She took her tip cleaned up her station and turn off the little light and got up. I had to ask the presumed brother a Miami Ohio graduate to polish and he did an excellent polish job. No Streaks. I write this review as I am sitting in the pedicure chair of Ambiance Nail Salon and Spa in Rookwood Commons doing guess what? You are correct getting a spa pedicure for real. I was here at 9:55 am. The moral of the story both your money and your time has Value... If you are paying for a service get your money and times worth of Good Value and Quality Customer Service whether a nail spa, auto service department or restaurant you and your money matter. Went in today to get my nails done with a gift certificate. Didnt even have anyone there that knew how to do a full set. While sitting there they let people come in and sell candybars. A terrible experience. I didnt even get my toes finished I didnt want to be in there any longer. Biggest waste of 30 dollars ever.

Thought I'd try out a different nail spot closer to me, went on a very slow evening, got immediate service. Nail tech was sweet but very very gentle which would be fine if my feet didn't need some rough attention. I asked her many times to smooth some rougher areas on my feet and had to ask to have some dead skin removed...the point of a pedicure is to get that taken care of, you shouldn't have to ask for it! She tried to give a massage but barely put pressure, I had to ask her to rub harder but it didn't happen. I also was concerned with a few of the tools she used, they didn't come from their own kit or box but right off the cart that was sitting there before I sat down. I asked if they were sanitized and she nodded yes...not convinced. It was just ok but I'll stick to my regular place, even if it's further.

I like the slower pace atmosphere here as I don't get rush as I would at other bigger salons. I like the more personalized treatment that I get here. They generally take their time on my feet which I can appreciate the attention and care. Price seems pretty comparable to other location.
