The best place in town to get your nails done. I've been getting gel manicures and pedicures there for years, and I highly recommend them. Quality products, huge selection of colors, friendly service, amazing artwork (Sonny does individual artwork by hand for a small additional fee - well worth it!). You'll love it!

I went into Nail Effects today to have shellac nail color. The owner tried to file my nails with an electronic file. I told her I did not want that and wanted to soak. The man told me I would need to go else where to have my nails soaks they do not have time. At that point I ask her what do I owe her to that point, paid, and left. I have never been treated so rudely. We never return.

I've been going to Nail Effect for about a year and couldn't be happier. My nails have never looked so good. This is a small 2 person operation but I've seen them go out of their way time and time again when someone just walks in and wants something done. If they can possibly squeeze it in they will. I think what some people are seeing as rude is not rude, it's just a culture difference. They were not born in the Midwest where people tend to be hi hon and sweetie and chit chatty. I'm from New England where things are more direct. I've been here 10 years and am still trying to adjust to the differences. I don't find Peter to be rude at all. He just wants to take care of your call or question as quickly as possible so the customer sitting in the chair isn't held up because he appreciates my time is valuable too.

I have been going to The Nail Effect for years. First and foremost, they do a beautiful job on my nails. My manicure/pedicure always lasts for a long time. I do shellac, and if one nail happens to chip I go in and they fix it immediately. Secondly, they are the most gracious, kind people. I have read some of these negative reviews, and I wonder if there was a miscommunication of some sort. I think people in Southwest Missouri sometimes fail to realize when someone is here, speaking English as a second language, things can get misinterpreted. I would say with 100% certainty that anything Peter or June (the owners and operators of The Nail Effect) say to a customer is NEVER intended to be rude or hurtful. I am greeted every time by name, and with a smile. We are lucky that living in a small town we have such a professional nail salon. If anyone is reading these reviews, please remember the saying we all learned in grade school "do unto others as you would have them do to you." If you don't know what that means....it means treat others the way you wish to be treated. If you treat people with respect, and realize they are offering a service that takes training and skill, and requires they charge enough to make an honest living, you will be treated with respect back. I would recommend this business to anyone, and I have!!!!!!!
