If I could give this place zero stars I would. The customer service here and professionalism is below sub-par. Inside the store is numerous leaking from the ceiling which is pretty disgusting. My biggest issue was what happened today (8/19/23). I arrived at the store at exactly 10AM which is their opening time. I waited for 15 mins because I needed to get some crotchet to finish my daughter hairstyle. The security arrived at 10:15. He told us to give him 3 mins for him to open the store. I asked if we will be able to purchase things after the 3 mins because I know it takes some time for the cash register to be set up. This man has the audacity to get sarcastic with me. All he had to say was yes or no. He said “if I’m opening up the store, then that means you can purchase”. Mind you, this man is a whole 15 mins late and giving me an attitude. I walked off because you not about to disrespect me after I waited 15 mins for the store to open. I ended up going back to put a complaint to the manager but he didn’t seem to care. I was trying to support a black business, but I’ll be shopping at a different place moving forward which is sad because this store is walking distance from my apartment but I’ll be driving 10 minutes moving forward to a different hair store.

#1 Beauty always has what I need as well as great prices. It is pleasant to see the familiar faces at each location.

Man this place has NEVER failed to disappoint me, I have the worst experience EVERY TIME I enter this place but yesterday was my last. The workers have the nastiest attitudes and poor customer service so try to avoid them by any means. I dreadfully entered the establishment because I was in a rush and it was close to where I was due to arrive, of course I went in for one thing and ended up with 20, spent over a $120 and got all the way home in Maryland and realized there was no receipt in my bag. I calculated my things with a device and the math wasn’t mathing. I had been over charged by $11 I was so irritated but I politely called the store and asked to speak with a manager. I was placed on hold and no one ever answered the phone, I started doing chores and forgot I was even on the phone, when I looked down I’d been on hold for 44 mins. I hung up and called back and was told the manager was unable I had to state my problem. When I told the cashier who was responsible for ringing me up she didn’t give me a receipt and could have possibly over charged me, she got offended, rude and denied it. I didn’t accuse her. She recommended I come to the store for a recount because she threw the receipt in the trash, but that was out of my convenience the money I was overcharged could’ve went into my gas tank, next time PAY ATTENTION and stop flapping your ghetto lips to coworkers. Problems like this could be avoided. Now you all look like selfish crooks to me, this consumer relationship is officially OVER. I hate this place and wouldn’t go in if it was my last resort.

BLACK FOLKS, STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE! This beauty supply store is owned by Africans who have a clear hatred for Black Americans. I just witnessed staff trying to fight two customers. One was accused of stealing. The situation quickly escalated with 4 employees surrounding the woman threatening her with violence. That was somewhat understandable, but then the employees turned on another woman who was in line waiting to pay. She deescalated the first altercation and got the other woman to leave the store. While she stood in line to pay, the employees then tried to fight her as well. They were completely out of control and appeared to very eager to get physical. I was shocked by the gutter behavior displayed by the employees. I put my items back and left....won't be returning.
