I had a gilt city voucher for a massage and facial. No issues scheduling but I wasn't given the option between a male or female practitioner...I arrived just a few minutes early and told him I was a first time guest only to be told go to the back...lets just saw it is not clear where the spa services are and I was in the wrong spot and my service started late. The facial products seemed nice and smelled good. I thought he was a bit rough, like if I was white I'm sure my face would have been red. When I was done he told me to get dressed and wait for my massage...really you guys don't have a robe I have to get fully dressed for my massage in 10 minutes which will I have to get undressed for? I think he saw the look on my face and heard the puzzling tone in my voice because he told me to hold on and came back with a robe. He offered me tea and water I had some tea with I waited for my massage therapist. My massage was fine with hints of aromatherapy and he listened to the fact that I had some shoulder issues and I wanted extra focus on my legs. Overall good massage but I thought it was a bit heavy handed for a Swedish massage. I was once again offered more water and tea and that was pretty much the end of my experience. I went back out front to check out, left my tip and thought I probably won't come back here for those services but they do have a hair salon so maybe I could try that...

I've been here twice. The first time I got the signature massage. It was wonderful. Most recently, I got the hot stone massage and a facial. The services were wonderful and the staff were kind and professional but still fun and enjoyable. The reason why this is a four star and not a five star rating is because most recently, my massage was shorter than expected. I was running late...granted that is my own fault, but my massage was shortened to make up for my lateness although there was no one immediately after me. In that situation, I feel that the shortening of my massage was unnecessary. But, overall, I highly recommend.

This is completely unacceptable, disappointing, a scam, a ripoff. The only present I got for myself this year, a $485 massage package that would last a year. I booked Dec 22 and Jan 12 and showed up Dec 22 to a gutted salon, no additional information, no helpful information on the website. Aveda Corporate is claiming it is not affiliated and there is no process to refund my money. If anyone has been able to get their money back from owner Gene Fresco, or the business please post / reply.

Made an appointment mid-November with a gilt city voucher. Just received an email canceling my appointments with 16 hours notice because the soho location has been closed for renovations since Nov. 5. Phone lines for help are consistently busy and emails receive no reply.
Why I was allowed to make a reservation for a time when they are closed and even had that reservation confirmed speaks to the unprofessional and at best inept - at worst deceptive - business practices they employ.
Be warned these people will take your money and you will receive nothing in return.

I purchased 2 massages on Groupon for me and a friend. I am very disappointed with their service. they canceled on me once due to construction so they rescheduled my appointment for the week after. The appointment was confirmed with via text the night before. i traveled to the city along with my friend and when i got there there was another woman there for an appointment as well. the spa was still closed due to construction and they did not in anyway notify us that our appointments were canceled. I have gotten a full refund from Groupon from the immense dissatisfaction of Asanda spa.
