I was treated poorly. The assistant misdiagnosed me and failed to listen properly to my issue. I checked my profile online and found that they said I was an intervenious drug user. Which is the furthest from the truth. The Doctor spent less than 5 minutes taking the time to listen, understand and connect. He walked in briefly diagnosed me and walked out. He wasn't interested in hearing a word.
To follow up... I missed an appointment because I was in the hospital for an asthma attack. When I got out a week later I called to reschedule my appointment. They were very rude and judgemental and they dropped me as a patient. Whether it was due to lack of knowledge or misinformation...they failed professionally and completely broke protocol. The staff is very stuck up. Thankfully, now I have a very kind and professional dermatologist that helps me with my skin allergies, eczema, and psoriasis. I couldnt be happier to pay elsewhere. Sheftel is overrated.

Because of unprofessional service by Dr. Elka R. Eisen, and a misdiagnosis of a scab on my right thigh (above my knee) that begin with mistreatment by a nurse/practitioner assigned to me on Feb. 2, 2016, (a Kathleen McDevitt) the growth I had turned out to be cancer and finally on Wed. May 24th, 2016 I had Moh's surgery to have the cancer cells removed. From the get-go I received shabby treatment from Elka Eisen, finally saw Dr. Sheftel who did say that it looked like it might be cancerous (and ordered another biopsy) but I suffered with the discomfort and pain of the growth until it was finally removed by a highly competent surgeon, Dr. Michael Heuther on May 24. All of this was a long and tedious and unnecessary process because of the lack of caring or responsibility taken by Elka Eisen, my first being seen by a nurse/practitioner rather than a doctor (although Sheftel Associates still bills the patient and the patient's insurer the very same rates!), and then the disgusting treatment by Elka Eisen who showed no concern and dismissed my concerns as "oh it's nothing." Well it wasn't nothing.
And I am now at home after the MOHs surgery recovering. It has cost me extra money, but worse, pain, and suffering and I intend to take this matter to the courts for redress. Shame on this dermatology practice, because even after I saw Dr. Sheftel (and incidentally gave him a copy of my last book) no one bothered to follow up, check on me, care what happened. So I am warning all who go to Sheftel Associates; avoid Elka Eisen at all costs, and if you feel they haven't diagnosed you properly go elsewhere for a second opinon!
