Hard to understand why 3 critical reviews in one week. I always have a great experience at McKennas! Been going for a few years. I’ve referred many people, and all very pleased. McKenna’s is very accommodating and very knowledgeable.

I came to this salon about 3 months ago... I am a mother of 4 and quite frankly, I don't put much effort into myself so I decided to get pampered. My hair was cut shorter than I would have liked. In fact, I had no intentions in cutting, but was made to feel like I was way overdue so I agreed and said "okay". Once she chopped it, I froze and didn't even speak up for myself. Plus, it's not like she could glue it back on. My hair covered my back when I arrived, and when I left, it was above my shoulders. Then, after cutting my hair & before proceeding with the other services, she told me that the total would be $305 (a price I have NEVER been charged for in any past hair services). At that point, I was already on the chair with my hair chopped off so I said "ok". I also had my greys covered, and a balayage retouch if you're wondering. I am a LOYAL customer when treated fairly, but my services will be taken elsewhere. The price is simply too steep for the services received.

Suggestion; listen to your customer. Thick hair should not be texturized unless someone asks for it. The style shown to you had long layers. So you take a photo of my highlights, then proceed to chop off. My first and last time there. Best of luck.

So I’ve gone to SO MANY hair salons but hadn’t quite found one that I love. I saw that McKenna’s had a good amount of stars and I don’t live far so I decided to give it a go. The owner is by far the best hairstylist I have come across. She’s so sweet and unlike a lot of other hairstylists, she genuinely cared about the condition of my hair. She taught me how to properly shampoo and condition damaged and colored hair and explained to me that I was incorrectly washing my hair and that’s why the color was coming out so quickly. She made sure that I was absolutely certain with the hair color choice that I made and gave me a chance to really think about it before diving in. I asked for an inch off of my hair and that’s exactly how much she cut and she gave me curtain bangs which are absolutely beautiful and she gave me some layers as well. So far I have already recommended her to everyone I know after going just once. I can’t wait to go back!!
