There are so many nail salons in St. Petersburg and the surrounding area but they definitely aren't all created equally. Solar Nails is one of the best. Yen, the owner and nail queen is fantastic. She does a great job, has every nail color or type you could want (gel, acrylic, dip, manicure, pedicure, etc...) is competitively priced and will get you in and out with beautiful nails in a decent amount of time. No sitting at the nail salon for hours. There are other nail techs and they all do a good job but Yen is a true professional. Call ahead for an appointment. She often fills her book a day or two ahead of time.

They need a course on foot massage. I have had three different techs and all 3 are, on a scale from 1-5, at a 1. I definitely would not pay them extra for extra time to massage. Just not good at it. I have always had a good pedicure though.

If I could give a rating with no stars, I would for the guy that gave me the worst full set I’ve EVER had. Every nail was a different length with very thick acrylic, they look so terrible!
What a disaster! I paid for services(tips, acrylic and a terrible nail file job) and left right before he was about to put polish on my nails.
I left and went to the nail salon down the street, European nail spa. They were wonderful people and great at what they do!

Don’t waste your time with the acrylic nail technician! I didn’t get the guys name but he is younger, maybe 35? Every nail was uneven and I saw a woman scrub her finger nails with a scrub brush then when she was done one of the women that worked there got the brush from her, rinsed it in tap water then put it in the jar labeled “clean brushes” 🤮!!!! Do you want nail fungus? Because that’s how you get nail fungus!
