We went to Choo Choo this evening and I was VERY disappointed. The lady that took our order was so rude. She did not want to be there that’s for sure. She kept sighing every time she would enter something into the computer. We asked for brisket and she rudely said it’s not in the menu right now. I asked to order two chicken bbq tacos and she said they come as three and I said I order them all the time this way. I said they have to ring them up different. She stormed off to ask someone how to do it. Once we placed our order and waited for our food it came out looking awful. Not like they normally do at all. It was just thrown on the plate. They didn’t even put the bbq sauce on them. There was slaw on one taco and maybe a drop on the other. My husband got the pork plate and the potatoes were so dry and in a big lump. He couldn’t even eat them. Needless to say this was the worst experience I have had there. I think management need to have a chat with their staff on how they handle customers.

Good BBQ. About average price range for BBQ, and the staff was friendly. The menu has everything from brisket, chicken, loaded potatoes, & all the standard items.

Awesome barbecue, juicy and tender and tastes wonderful. And has really good coke slaw.

You can tell the meat is, well, lovingly smoked. Fork tender and juicy. Had beef brisket this time, but have had pork and chicken previously...top notch!

I called in an order for pick-up around 3:30 this afternoon. Once I got to the restaurant I had to wait over 15 minutes for food that was literally cold. They forgot to give me the two drinks that went with my order so I had to ask for them. Then the sweet tea did not have any sugar in it (but there was a large white bucket that had no lid or covering with sugar and a wire whisk in it sitting beside the tea). When I asked about this the waitress/cashier said they just forgot to put the sugar in the tea. She also forgot to charge me for my order (luckily for her I am a decent person and reminded her that I still needed to pay). My husband and I had a bad experience at this location about six months ago but we decided to see if it had gotten any better. We love the Choo-Choo BBQ in East Ridge as well as the one in East Brainerd but this Hixson location is horrible. We will definitely not make this mistake a third time.
