The airport overall is nice. Terminal 1 not very big for such hub and staff working are nice and professional. They people that work in airport general nice and friendly. What I love about this airport as Muslim. They have place for you to pray. Its JFK Islamic center. Which a nice cozy, clean and comfortable place for Muslims to pray. Love it and appreciate it. :D

This airport does not even deserve a single star. In all the airports I have visited, never have I seen an airport as deplorable as JFK. From the most basic needs such as chairs for sitting out before you check-in at the counter to ample food courts and charging stations, this airport lacks it all !!!
And to say that this is one of the most busiest airports in the US, I feel sorry for every traveler who is susceptible to the challenges of this airport. For me, Never again !

Large, beautiful airport. The employees are always friendly and helpful. I have been inside the airport many times for connecting flights. I always enjoy the sights on the take-off and landings! I am glad I don't have to navigate outside; although, I'm sure, the traffic pattern is as easily accessible as possible due to the amount of passengers coming and going.

Large intimidating airport that can cause one to be overwhelmed if not prepared. Airport staff are all friendly and super helpful. Facilities are clean. It’s fairly easy to navigate as signage are clear and if you are lost there are staff everywhere. My son loved walking through the airport and seeing the different sights. He especially loved the speed walk people movers. I love New York and I love traveling through New York.

Although this is a fairly large and busy airport, the directions are very simple. The directions to the gates are clearly marked along with min max time to reach your gate which is extremely helpful. There are some areas of improvement for eg., the taxi drivers who stand inside while announcement is being made not to avail of any unauthorized taxi drivers, availability of some more chairs and loungers. The concourses are relatively small for the traffic at this airport. I agree with some of the previous comments that it needs some additional food courts and charging stations. Another strange thing inside the airport was some shops which charge tax (despite airports being duty free) - this was a chocolate shop which charged tax and on inquiring the salesperson said it was a normal shop inside the airport.
