My child went to Foster High for four years. Before that, to Briscoe Middle school. Was a great couple of years there. I was an active Dad in my kids extra curricular activities. I got to know the school staff pretty well, including the assistant principal, Ms. McLaurin. Great people working there. They helped me out throughout the years, making sure my kid was doing the work and making the grades. They kept me assured that things were going well. And all four years, the school did fantastic in athletics, academics, and music!! The school is ALOT newer than, say, MY old high school (which has been around since, like, 1955!) The safety of the grounds DEFINITELY needs work. There are NO fences around the school to keep intruders out. So that makes it very easy for any idiot to just walk up to the school. I don't like that. My biggest complaint, though, was why the graduating young adults weren't allowed to wear any decorating leis or
saches with their cap & gowns? This is an important milestone in their lives. And they should've been allowed to sport an achievement garment with their gowns! I felt the school was ridiculously strict with these rules. Overall, the school was always a good place for my kid. I recommend it.

This school is great in so many ways besides it being somewhat older, a little dirty, and a few bad people here and there. Overall though, it's a great place.

terrible place, hostile environment, teachers and administrators don’t care about students, completely dirty, the school security thinks they are gods, the alcoholic principal came in a couple years ago and tried to run the school like a dictatorship but really only looked like a whiny baby when things didn’t go his way. if you don’t care about your kids being surrounding by multiple “gangs” and children that bully others for no good reason then please send them to foster.

Foster High School was a great school to go through. I started at Briscoe the first year these schools opened so when I went to Foster, the school was still new. The teachers were great, the principal was great, and the school felt safe. The athletic program was still new and needed a lot of work, but I still had a great time. I would strongly recommend Richmond (specifically zoned to Foster) as it is definitely the best school in the district.
