I was new to the area and hadn't found a new nail salon. I saw their sign outside for Passion Nails' beginning of the week special so I decided to give them a try. ($30 for Mani and Pedi). I was very dissapointed. It didn't start out bad. I walked in and was greeted right away. The place looked a little dated, but it seemed clean, there was no nail salon "odor", and I wasn't paying for the decor so it didn't bother me. I chose my nail color and was immediately placed in a pedicure chair. The nail tech was a little rough at times, but nothing over the top. He shaped my nails, removed the callouses from my heels, gave a short leg massage, and applied my polish. Pretty standard stuff and my toes looked great. And then it was time for the manicure...
The man got *way* too happy with the cuticle nippers. He drew blood on 4 separate fingers. While attempting to apply a liquid styptic/antiseptic and stop the bleeding he kept mumbling something about my cuticles being "deep" and how he'd never seen anything like this happen before. This is the same person who just did an amazing job on my toes?! Once the bleeding finally stopped he proceded with the manicure which was extremely painful since he was basically shoving nail polish into open wounds at that point. To make matters worse, not all the blood was cleaned up around my nail beds, so I had dark rings around half my cuticles which was easily visible. It looked terrible, but at that point I just wanted out of there so I didn't complain. Also, I had already paid the bill since I didn't want to dig through my purse after the polish was applied. I can't say if my experience would be any better with a different nail tech, so if you want to give this place a shot just know that you get what you pay for. I personally won't risk a second visit to find out.
