I think this salon needs to catch up with the times. This is 2017 (basically 2018). Acrylic nails are more popular than ever and the variety of shapes is a big part in that. Square and Oval shapes should not be the only shapes available. I mean an almond nail shape is a little more snipping with nail clippers and filing. But the owner argued that she will never change because she’d rather do what she knows best. I’m sorry, but that just sounds lazy to me. If my companion hadn’t started her pedicure already, I would have walked out and they would have lost my business ($120, which she did the math wrong in her head [never have I seen someone not use a calculator] , we realized too late so she got an extra $10, not including her tip.) I live in a small town, so I was looking forward to getting a manicure and a big city like Seattle. I was very disappointed about the acrylic shape restrictions and how she got defensive. After that conversation she was very nice and overall did a good job. I am happy with my manicure, she shaped them very evenly and held a nice conversation, but I really think constructive criticism would be helpful here.
