Wayne State is often overshadowed by U of M and Michigan State. That goes for athletics, academic prowess, and the fact that it is in the very center of Detroit, a city that is really trying to be that much better. And it is. The same can be said about Wayne State. Architecturally, this place is incredible, (a literal sandbox of the famed architect Minoru Yamasaki and worth the visit literally for his buildings and reflecting pool alone). The professors are overall great and push their students for excellence. Unfortunately it is also a place where educational inequality prevails, with a lot of students transferring out, mainly due to systemic inequality in high schools. It is getting better but it is a long road. The "4 year degree" hasn't been achieved by everyone due to having students often "catching up" with core classes. That is the reality. However, if you do make it through, it is worth it. I want to one day see Wayne State placed in conjunction with the big 2 schools in Michigan.

Wayne State seems to be the right school in the right place. It is a standout area in Detroit, and there are lots of things to do when you are in the area. Nice restaurants, and close to museums etc .

I was a WSU student and employee from 1998 to 2002. I am truly impressed with the amount of growth the campus has gone through. Areas are still under construction and, if the completed project areas are any testament to what is to come, I am eager to see the finished product. Stay Warriors Strong 😎👍

Seven years wasted here. 0 consideration for students struggling financially or health-wise, but they're more than glad to ask you "donate" while charging you annually increased tuition. You're having trouble keeping up with a work-life balance? Tough luck. But, hey, feel free to pay the same tuition rate for an online class that hasn't changed its syllabus in 4 years. If you hate yourself and need more reasons to give up on life, just go to WSU :)
