This place is so sad! I feel bad for the students! They arent getting the education they need. And the teachers are no where to be found. And when there is a teacher shes rushing and or yelling at the students in front of the clients. And when a client returns to get their hair repaired from the error the student made maybe the teacher should do the repairing and use that as a teaching lesson! I went back and i gave them a second chance to repair the damage they did to my hair and they failed. No wonder these young styles are nervous around clients. My sympathy go's to the students. Good luck! 1/28/2019

Just know what to expect I guess. I went for a manicure. My appointment was for 5:45 I wasn't greeted until 6:15 by a student who informed me this is her first time and she "has no idea" what she's doing and also nails are not her passions. I was lead to a table where she was unsure which side I was supposed to sit on, she asked the instructor who replied "haven't you ever had a manicure before?" This was followed by a lot of absent minded touching of the products on the table until I offered to tell her how to start. She then asked if wanted my nails trimmed and filed (I thought that was standard in a manicure) my reply of yes started a 10 minutes search for nail clippers. The whole process took about 2 hours (which isn't too bad for someone learning but the quality was unacceptable) with lots of guidance from me (I've had a manicure before and that is the extent of my experience, I have no idea where the instructor who was supposed to be responsible was). I was allowed to pick from 6 possible gel colors (three of which were red). During this 2 hour experience I was able to listen to other student talk about how their boyfriends either cheated on them or how they cheated on their boyfriends; very appropriate. I left with a very mediocre manicure (I had to file my nails myself to even them out). Three days later the gel pealed cleanly off one of my nails (indicative of improper preparation of the nail and low quality product). She didn't know how to use the UV lamp so she just had me place my hands in repeatedly and now I have a lovely sunburn on the back of my hands. Ultimately not at all worth the time or money no matter how cheap the manicure was. I wouldn't do it again even if it was free.

My Review is based off of my experience as a student instructor. The program had little to no organization . I came in my first day and introduced myself , and asked where I should sit . I was told to sit with the rest of the student . Day 3 I was pulled aside and told to stop fratinizing with students that I need to sit somewhere else . Basically the program is you "shadow" the instructors everyday besides one day a week where an instructor from pheonix comes up and I actually had theory . I have nothing negative to say about this instructor . She did her best with the cards she was dealt . The rest of the week I basically asked what I should be doing then constantly being told I'm not doing anything . Very annoying cycle. Little to no direction. Which I got use to "looking" busy (the advice one of the nicer instructor gave ) , because all instructors were too busy for me . I was an annoyance to have around, which I felt every single day . You get told to teach classes but besides my once a week class , I did not get any direction . Always told I did great , and swept under the rug . No criticism . In my opinion this school does not offer the minimum criteria that should be offered to have a program . If you do this program , expect to pay thousands of dollars for once a week training for 5-6 months . I don't believe Tucson offers this program anywhere else. Lastly of my experience , my last day I wore jeans and a shirt . I asked ahead of time . I was told it was ok because everyone gets to wear what they want . I over heard the entire conversation of the instructor complaining it was unprofessional . I was sent home to change . On my graduating day . I was told I was not allowed to spend the day getting hair or make up done . Which I didn't plan on anyways . But all students do . Remember I am a student also. I sat down at one point and was told I had to "earn my hours" . I agree but every grad day is an easy one . So once it was time to clock out , I did without anyone knowing . I went to the man running the school , and asked if there was any paper work I needed to fill out , he said no . Handed me my certificate and apologize . He said he was under pressure to send me home. He asked if I wanted to get the school together , I said no ,none of these people care about me . I have since had a bad taste in my mouth for this school . I had been teaching a little over a year in California . I love it. Until a week ago I moved to Wyoming . Anything I learned about teaching cosmetology came from my instructor I met with once a week . At night one instructor was helpful . If i had projects she would see if I needed help , if I stayed to make up time . If this is your passion and nothing else is open in Tucson than you have no options . Just be prepared. If anywhere else opens dont hesitate to go there.

I used to be a student here. I was very close to graduating then some personal stuff happened. I tried to drop myself because its easier to enroll again especially with financial assistance. I tried contacting the new person who handles this stuff "Dawn" never once did she ever get back to me I even tried going into her office. She was always "busy". Or never there! Which eventually resulted in me being kicked out of the program. Now I owe the school all kinds of money that their not getting because it was completely unfair. I loved what I was learning my clients and the teachers and friends I made. But I would NEVER go back to this school. Now i hear they fired one of the best teachers there smh. Lack of responsibility is what they are all about. Wish I could rate a ZERO !!
