It's 5:14 a.m. on a Tuesday and I've barely been able to get any sleep due to the severe pain I'm experiencing under my nails. I came to this salon with some family members I'm in town visiting. They go there every one in a while but I'm extremely disappointed with my experience and even a bit concerned. I got a pedi and gel mani by the only man that was there that day (not sure what his name is). He was very nice as was the rest of the staff I interacted with but when dealing with something like your nails there's a lot of things to look out for and good treatment just isn't enough. Their tools didn't seem well sanitized. They might be, but I live almost 5 hours away, get my nails done every 2 weeks and the tools used on me come from a sterilizer, every single time, and I feel confident they haven't been used on anyone else without being cleaned. Even after removing them from the sterilizer they clean them off with alcohol as well. At this place they were just taken out of a small plastic box so I have no way of knowing whether or not they were sterilized. Some of my toe nails ended up with weird dark streaks on them. I say weird cause I've never had it happen before. My feet don't look like I just had a pedi less than 2 days ago and when he brought out the hot towel to use after the lotion on my legs I was burned multiple times (I love heat & how hot they are at my usual spot back home and they come out steaming so the temperature here must be set excessive or maybe he still doesn't know how long to wait before applying it to a client's skin because I swear I thought I'd leave with 2nd degree burns).
Then came my gel mani. Never in the years I've been getting gel polish had I ever felt so much pain. Every time my hands went under the UV light my nails burned terribly but he was applying such thick layers that I had to leave them even longer in order for them to dry. Then, to make matters worse, after enduring all this pain my nails don't look all that great and the polish doesn't feel like it bonded properly and it will most likely lift today when I wash my hair or do the dishes. I have a high tolerance for pain so if I'm telling you this pain is keeping me up I can assure you it's bad. My nails ended up quite lumpy and maybe I'm too picky because my nail guy is so meticulous but I like the polish to cover my entire nail from cuticle to tip and side to side but they are not like that right now. I feel like he most likely has vision problems and requires glasses but doesn't use them because I can't understand why he would find his work acceptable. I contacted my cousin who's a nail tech (lives in another state) to ask her about this terrible pain and she says that happens when the layers are applied too thick and overheat during curing, causing pain and even possible permanent damage. I hope this pain goes away soon and I hope no one else ever experiences it because I don't wish this on anyone.
Sorry for the excessive pics but it's hard to see the lumps in pictures so I tried different angles.

My nail tech made both feet bleed, never apologized, never wore gloves, dropped equipment on the floor and picked it up, THEN went back to work on my feet. Very aggressive nail salon, I won't be back.
