I graduated from this cosmetology institute in 1989 before Hugo hit Charleston. I received excellent training which I still use today. I won honors from the company I worked for including becoming a manager and manager of the year for the Southern Region. Customer Service was a big part of our training and if we as students had a problem with a customer we would call a manager for assistance.
I have read all the reviews posted. My opinion is this does not sound like what I, as a student endured. If a customer has a problem you ask for an instructor whether it deals with price or a rude student.
This institute has a top notch teaching staff and were always polite and customer service oriented. It makes me wonder if there was a problem with the client and student and knowing the staff at Charleston Cosmetology Institute if the problem was addressed there would never have been remarks like people have posted.
I personally am very proud of the training I received. I NEVER heard the owner raise his voice!!! He always preached on customer service and assisting the customers needs so experiencing first hand his teachings I find it hard believing anything posted.

I have had my nails done for the last 9 years at Charleston Cometology Institute and I have never been dissappointed. I have had rounded, square, coffin, and stilletto styles thanks to great students out of each cycle. I had full sets typically with the exception of weekenders on one occasion. I attended prom, ROTC banquets, and military banquets with a beautiful set of nails every year. I made sure to come with an idea of what I wanted and they found a way to make each set personalised to the occasion. The head nail instructor personally did clear jelly stillettos with glitter for my senior prom in 2012 and they were fantastic!! My nails lasted longer each application thanks to the technicians here than a five-star korean nail salon in Sterling,Virginia. ☆☆☆ I have also had my hair color-corrected, reshaped and styled, and highlighted. The most recent time was in Spring 2018 and the technician was very friendly and patient and even accepted changes gracefully. Great guy.

Simply horrible service. The girl who did my hair was mad she had to detangle it. Then wanted to complain and say I was hurting her back because she was pulling on my hair! The gel she used dried white on my edges so I have to wash it out and my ends look like trash. Wish I got her name so I could blast her out. Seemed like the more I complained the worse my service became. 😤 never again
