My daughter and I walked into the spa on Sept. 30, 2019 hoping to get a mani/pedi on our mother/daughter day. I choose this one in particular because I had service before and the results were decent. However, when I approach the desk clerk (who I believed was the manager), and ask if my daughter and I could be serviced, her response was that we would have to wait 45 minutes. This came as a surprise, because as I looked around the shop there were barely customers (3 customers being serviced and 3 employees who appeared to be free). The receptionist did not explain why we would have such a long wait, just that we could not be serviced. I was thoroughly disappointed at the tone she used, as well as her lack of effort in being accommodating.
We left feeling discriminated against.

I have never written a review about a salon/nail service but I felt like this time was warranted. My friend and I went to get pedicures this morning and stopped in to Nail Studio. First, their website is confusing because the homepage says they don’t take appointments but their drop down menu has an option to book an appointment. Since I am pregnant, we liked that it wasn’t bigger and didn’t smell strong of paint fumes. However, I would have gladly endured the paint fumes over the horrible service we had. After we chose our colors, nobody told us where to go or who was doing our nails. Even though other people were offered water, we were not (and being pregnant, I wanted water). A lady came up to my manicurist and vocally yelled at her. My friend has to ask for her technician to rescues her feet because she didn’t get rid of any dry skin the first time. They didn’t have us sit under heaters to dry our feet so we sat in our chairs and they cleaned the tubs underneath us while we were still sitting there. They charged me $5 extra for the nail color I chose but didn’t tell me about the extra cost until after they already painted my toes. And then they kicked us out so other people could sit in our chairs even though there were plenty of other chairs open. I will never be going back.

I don't go here and never will step foot in here again. Was here once and wasn't very happy. But my dear friend comes here for her nails, so I got her a gift card for her birthday, a mani/pedi, paid $55.00 cash, the girl working wrapped it very nicely in a gold box but when my friend went to use it, there was no money on it. So whoever the employee was that was working that day, stole the money, and gave me a blank giftcard, and the owner/manager would not honor it. What a bunch of crooks.

I am only visiting Chicago for a day and a half, and needed an emergency mani/pedi before a party. This place was AMAZING. They had walk-in availability on a Saturday afternoon, it was clean and bright, pricing was really great for the quality of service I received, and my tech did an incredible job. I just did a very basic mani/pedi with regular polish, and was very happy with it. It might sound strange to compliment a nail tech on this, but she painted only my nail, and the entire nail.!!!! I am always disappointed with the paint job when I get a last minute mani; but Jenny did an awesome job! All around a very professional place. I would highly recommend for a quality basic mani or pedi.

I love this place — quiet, clean and the technicians are quite good. They’ve started taking appointments and require pre-payment; which is fine. More often than not, the technician is not there and the salon is not open on time. I’ve left messages for the owner but have yet to hear from her. The management needs to be improved drastically.
