I am a Newtown resident and have been going to other locations for quite some time. I needed a gel manicure before a last minute meeting. I came in on Wednesday, 5/16/18 at around 10:15 AM as a walk in. I was led right away to a technician who was doing her own nails at the time. I thought I had the wrong station. She gestured with her nail tool to sit down. I placed my bag on the floor and put my hands on the table- only to realize my hands were in sticky goop.
She laughed and said "doing my own nails!" Apparently she spilled some nail gel at her station while doing her own nails. She did not offer to wipe off my hands; but placed a paper towel right over the spilled sticky gel.
She then wrapped my old gel nails in the foil and proceeded to **finish her own gel manicure that I had to watch** while she chatted with the girl next to her about her own nails. I was so horrified and disgusted that I almost left except that I had that meeting at noon. (I also need to mention that I was in work clothes. My work jacket kept rubbing on the scratched and worn down arms of the thread-bare chair that I had to sit in. I was worried it would snag).
She proceeded to perform my gel manicure, then filed the ends of my nails after the gel manicure was done. Is this right? I thought that doing so would break the seal and I even asked her this. She said no.
...I mentioned that I put my bag on the floor. When I picked it back up and put it on the seat of my car, it left a white mark. I realized it was from dust and dirt from this salon.
Well- you can see just 1 day later that the gel already peeled. I am so upset with the $30 (plus required tip) that I spent that I am going to print this review and send it to Newtown Nails and the Newtown Business Association. I am not just disgruntled, I am mad at the lack of quality service that I was given.
I had to pick 1 star to post this, otherwise it would have been zero.

My 5 year old daughter and I went here for a gel manicure for me, and a pedicure for my daughter. I understand that it was a busy Saturday, but the experience was extremely rushed and poorly executed. I had to ask the nail technician two times to cut my nails down, and even then she barely filed them. My daughter's toenails did not get cut at all! Her sandals were covered in nail polish and her entire pedicure lasted 10 minutes. I will not return here.

This is my go to nail place! I always have a great experience. Everyone is friendly, they have tons of great colors to choose from and I never feel rushed while getting my nails done. Definitely recommend it here!

This place is no frills which is honestly fine with me. There’s boxes of product everywhere, all of the tables are cluttered, and it’s not the cleanest in the world but they did disinfect the tools before I sat down, which is all I care about. I’m giving this two stars because the staff is rude, I was poked and prodded to switch hands or wash my hands instead of just being asked to do so. Also had to wait twenty minutes despite having an appointment. I paid 30 bucks for a gel manicure that one hour later is already chipped. I wouldn’t go there again unless I was desperate and even then I wouldn’t pay for the gel

Love love love it here! Staff is super nice and very accommodating, only place I will go for mani and pedi!!
