Magical Nails have been around many years and his customer service is excellent! I love how he takes care of your feet and you walk out feeling brand new! What I love best about this place is he will accommodate you with coming in earlier if you have a vacation and you need an emergency pedicure!!

I was originally planning on going to natural nails down the block from this place but since it had started to pour and the place was empty I decided to step in anyways. I went in to get the gel manicure, which was $20 (cheaper than most places). The guy who was there was really friendly. He talked with me while I got my nails done. Now, mama didn't raise a little b, so when he stuck my hand in some hot ass water, I sucked it up. You know how normally they soak your nails in warm water, well, my friends, the water was not warm, it was hot af. I should have said something, but I didn't want to be rude so I would let my fingers cool a bit by raising them up a bit to be covered by the bubbles (the water was very soapy) but then he kept sticking my hand in the water. R.I.P me. So after the soak, he did all the pre-polish stuff, like pushing the cuticles back, cleaning under the nails, reshape the nail, etc. Or so I thought. He did nothing with my cuticles. All he did was cut the dead skin around the nail bed, quick file, and buff. Now some of you may think that's no big deal except I went in because my nails looked a hot mess, cuticles included, and I wanted them to look good. So yeah, I do need my cuticles to get some love when I get a manicure. Also one of my nails had broke and needed to be reshaped. It is still lopsided and I got my nails done a week ago. So after the lack of TLC for my nails he started painting my nails. Now the color layers looked fine. He covered the area good. However, his gel top coat layering could use some work. He quickly painted the top coat layer and ended up only painting half or 3/4 of the nail, because he was doing it so quickly. I know this because while my nails were curing until the uv light, you could see the top coat glowing on half of each nail. Anyways, here's the kicker. I got my nails because I wanted to make sure a crack on my thumb nail didn't take half my nail with it but 20 minutes after I got the manicure (literally all I did was walk back from the nail salon and opened my front door) and the crack on my nail went through the gel manicure and extended further than it did before I got my nails done. Then the next day, polish began to chip. My gel manicure began to chip in 2 days. I don't know if i got ripped off and paid for an overpriced regular manicure or gel manicures have changed dramatically in the past 2 months since I last got one. I don't want to be mean because the guy seemed really nice, he talked about his daughters in Hawaii and in the air force, and he seemed really proud of them but I would be careful. He's a little racist. He talked about how he didn't like white or black people because they're lazy and that he likes Mexicans because they are hard workers. I mean he told me about how back in the 70s he use to smuggle Mexicans across the border to have them work on his farm in Fresno. I don't know. It was a wild experience and I do not recommend it. I ended up painting over my nails myself because my nail budget does not include getting two gel manicures back to back. TLDR; this place sucked and I would not recommend it. The cheap price is enticing but treat yo self and go somewhere that's a little more but that takes care of you properly. Update: so I went to get my nails done with my regular lady in SF and apparently he didn't use a gel top coat but rather an acrylic one. So my nail lady had to use the dremel to remove the polish instead of soaking it off. At this point I'm questioning if he even knew what he was doing.
