I called a head to make an appointment @ 1:30 pm. With Hero. I arrived about 5 minutes before my scheduled time. The person at the front desk told me it would be about 5 minutes because the nail tech had to do a design which his client added last minute. I paid so I could get it out of the way, they kept reassuring me that it was only a few more minutes and that he wouldn’t take long to do my nails. The female kept having him do the design over because it wasn’t perfect to her liking. He kept obliging. She finally got off his chair at 2:17pm by then I had to drive back to work. I’m not sure why they even take appointments if they don’t go by them at all. I understand it’s a nail salon and appointments could run a little over but from 1:30 to 2:17 is a huge freaking gap. Waste of my time and lunch.

It’s been a week since I’ve had this set done...And every time I look at them, they still amaze me! Mimi is one of the best for your nails!!! I will never go to anyone else. Absolutely love her work. The shop is clean, friendly and plays great music. I love this salon! Mimi is my girl!

This nail salon is awesome! It took me a bit of time to find my go to nail salon in Austin, I tried out various different places through out the city and this is now my go to salon for many reasons including cleanliness, customer service, quality of nail service. I look forward to booking my appointment every couple of weeks for dip with extension and pedicure. I’ve had a few nail techs that were all amazing and everyone is super friendly. I also was lucky to find my go to nail technician Richard, he takes his time to make sure my nails come out exactly how I want them! He really listens to how I want my shape, length, and I’m very picky with my cuticles. I always come out there feeling like a new person! Thank you modern nails and Richard !

I have never posted a negative review before, but my experience with Modern Nails Lounge Spa was so unpleasant I feel it necessary to let others know. My daughter and I went in for pedicures and my technician, although very nice, struggled greatly with my pedicure. She cut too much of my nails causing bleeding and discomfort and once it came time for polish she had to completely start over twice. The polish was old and so she struggled with getting an even coat as well. She also completely missed spots on my toes with the polish to the point I had to ask her to cover them with the polish. The technician then failed to place top coat on my freshly polished toes and therefore within hours of leaving the salon, I had several chips. I went back the next day to ask for my polish to be fix and the associate I spoke with was very friendly and agreed I could come back the next day for a fresh coat of polish. Came back the next day, but the associate I spoke with that day was not nearly as pleasant and when I chose a different polish he told me I would be charged because it had to be the same polish. Even with explaining to him the other polish was old and poor quality which is one of the reasons the pedicure was so bad, he still gave me a hard time so I decided it was best to remove myself from the situation. I asked him for a voucher for the poor quality pedicure that I paid for and tip very well on even with the experience I had, and all I got back from him was disrespect. I was given the number for management to see if we could resolve this issue, but never received a call back even though I left a voicemail with my callback information. Again, I have never left a poor review in my life, but the level of unprofessionalism and lack of respect was deplorable. I obviously will not be returning as a paying customer and will be sure to steer family and friends from this business as well.

I had a 6pm appointment and was in a chair in less than 5 minutes. I showed Mimi, who was an absolute doll, multiple different sets and she was able to give me all the prices up front. She not only was able to recreate the set I showed her but she was clean, thorough and gave each design her full focus. For context I got french tips with a hand drawn design on each nail for $95 (cheaper than ALL of the other salons and techs I reached out to). I could not be more satisfied! Definitely will be coming back next time!
