TL;DR - This is a review for a haircut I received. I have straight, fine, long hair (up to shoulder blades). Despite the raving 5 star reviews here that lured me in, I’ve walked out of $10 hair cuts with better results.
—Context—
Came here on a Thursday for an 8pm appointment. I left by ~9:30pm. I came here for a very basic trim (just needed to get rid of split ends) and went through a rather... memorable experience.
—Booking an Appointment—
Firstly, these guys were REALLY hard to get a hold of. My friend called in & left a message, and received a voicemail in response, to which he wasn’t able to reply without a voicemail - you get the point. I only waited two days after calling in and was able to book an appointment for two days later (4 day process). I tried calling in to inform them I would be 10 minutes late, but again, they have a voicemail system. When I was booking I was told I would have an appointment with a “senior stylist”.
—The Haircut—
The girl cutting my hair was very sweet, but I felt that she really didn’t know what she was doing (despite what she was telling me). My hair was yanked, at one point I was told “oh I shouldn’t even have done sections because your hair cuts so nice”. (!!!!) I appreciated the compliment, but it was really unnerving. Near the end the salon was closing up and I was asked to pay *while* I was getting my hair cut... while I don’t mind, it was rather unprofessional.
Throughout my session, the teachers came around and also worked on my hair - I feel that these were the only parts done remotely well, but even then they snipped at it rather haphazardly.

I had my hair died not long before I went to this salon. The First Lady really messed it up. Jessica really did an Amazing job at fixing and making it look beautiful again. The whole staff was really nice to. I will definitely be going back!

Got my hair trimmed and styled by Katherine Miller today and I absolutely love it! I have a LOT of hair (not to mention extremely long) and she did an amazing job with the trim. Also, my hair is notorious for never holding a curl and she somehow managed to pull it off for my senior portraits today. She pays close attention to detail and will put in the time to make sure she gets it right. I would highly recommend coming in to see her! Big thanks!

I have been going to the Salon Academy for years. Through the years I’ve worked with several stylists. One of my favorites, by far, is Miranda. She has been doing my hair for several months now and I couldn’t be happier! I have long, thick, coarse hair and lots of it so it usually takes me a long time to do my hair myself. I’m more than happy to go to Miranda to get my hair done. She does my blow-outs on a weekly/bi-weekly basis. From stick straight, sleek hair to gorgeous, bouncy curls…she does it all! I walk out of the salon feeling fabulous after a session with Miranda. She does a great job shampooing my hair and styling it. I usually doze-off/meditate when she’s working her magic. It's soooo relaxing. When I finally wake up, the image that’s staring back at me from the mirror takes my breath away. I’m always super happy with the results. Not only is Miranda talented, she is very personable as well. She always has a smile on her face and you can tell that she loves what she does. I highly recommend her! Do yourself a favor and see Miranda for your hair styling needs.
