I called ahead to see if a friend of mine & I could get in at a certain time(They were closing early apparently) They were very accommodating and got us in and out. One employee seemed to be in a hurry to get out of there and made it slightly uncomfortable, but the other was very nice and even warned us to stay a little longer so our nails would dry and not mess up. I'd recommend if you just want a quick and quiet nail treatment.

First of all, these negative reviews make me really sad. I feel like a lot of the people reviewing don’t really seem to understand the type of shop Allentown Nail Salon is. I think it’s worth noting a few things:
1. There are only two people who work here—a husband and wife team. Making an appointment for more than two people is probably inadvisable, because they simply don’t have the man power. I’m sure you could do it, but it’s not like a place at a mall where you’ll get in and out quickly.
2. They take their time to make sure your nails are perfect. I’ve actually talked to Anne about this—she says she would rather take a long time and turn away a customer who came in for a walk in just to make sure everything is done right.
3. I don’t get acrylics, so I can’t speak to that service. However, I get gel nails almost once a month here. Every single time, the polish lasts for at least three weeks, sometimes upwards of 4-5 weeks! That is amazing to me. At most places, it lasts for 2-3 weeks max, and even then it starts to chip.
4. Yes, they have a young child, as another reviewer mentioned, but he is super sweet (and older now). I admire them for running the shop on their own and doing a good job, all while having to pick him up from school, etc.
The bottom line is that this is a small shop that can only handle a small client base. It’s hard to get a walk in, especially in the summer, because there are only two of them. I recommend calling a day in advance or even the morning of the day you want to go. They have a direct line to both of their cell phones. You might wait a little bit when you come in (even if you make an appointment), but it’s worth it. I love it here, and I truly wont go anywhere else, because this is the only spot where I’ve consistently gotten a good manicure. Honestly, I think I’ve only written maybe two reviews in my life—I wouldn’t write such a glowing one if I didn’t feel so strongly about how amazing this place is; you just have to have realistic expectations about what type of shop it is and the services they can provide.
