My husband and I have been getting our hair cut by Hannah. We have been very happy with the cuts! She has done a great job on my layers. The instructor is very kind and attentive to the students.

So basically have this went down ....
I called on day one to get an appointment for me and my friend to get her hair dyed with Purple peek a boos And Appt for my sons and husband to cut their hair. The next day happens I get off work in Yv drive to 29 to pick up my family and then drive back to yv and the receptionist proceeds to tell me that she’s been trying to call me and doesn’t have an accurate number for me to tell me that the person that was supposed to do my hair wasn’t there and the barber side was closed down because there were no barbers I was a little confused as to why they would make an appointment for a time that they don’t have barbers. Even though super irritated because I literally drove 1.5 hours to get to the appointment.I didn’t get an attitude I thanked them anyway and re-made an appointment for the next day. Then I get called and told I missed my appointment (how did you have my number because I didn’t re give it to you so why couldn’t you get ahold of me during the attempt to tell me my appt was canceled before I came down here) The lady assured me that my hair will be done by 315 because that’s when I go to work so she made the appointment for 1230.
I got there the next day at 12:35 yes I was five minutes late. But essentially we didn’t even get started and so about 130. They proceeded to tell me that they don’t have enough time to do the purple so how about I just touch up my hair and do a trim. At this point I realize that I’m bout to invest 2 1/2 hours of travel time to not even get a service done and at that point I sensually felt bad for the student so I agreed to dye my hair pretty close to the same color it is to cover up some grays and get a little trim for $72... I overhear the instructor told the student that I won’t be able to tell the color ( then why get a hair color I won’t be able to notice and when you acknowledge that I won’t be able to notice it why not talk to me about it as an instructor). This point I’m upset because I am literally getting something I didn’t want because there wasn’t enough time before I had to go to work but they knew that the day before and schedule me for this time and after 2 1/2 hours of driving around you’re telling the student that I’m not gonna be able to tell the color change but you don’t notify that to me as an instructor and professional .....kinda sketchy. So the dye sits in my hair for 1-2 hours. We go to the bowl to wash it out and the student notifies me that there is purple all over the back of my shirt. This is also a problem because I’m supposed be going straight to work. But no bother it’s just a shirt. The student blow dries my hair and I realize that My hair is blackish..I am now realizing I am an hour late for work ....I went home to 29 get dressed and I realize that my head is throbbing and tingling and I realize I need to head to the ER or urgent care. I got seen and given allergy meds and told I had a chemical burn. I wake up the next day with a welt around the rim of my head and behind my ear and the burning hasn’t gone or away or defused. So I call the school and this super super sweet lady at the front listens to my story and tells me that the instructor is going to call me. Lo and behold it’s Miss Shelby the instructor... essentially ask me what I wanted which was kind of a weird question because what I wanted was my head to stop burning ...was told they couldn’t help with medical cost (which I didn’t ask for) or my money back but was offered a conditioning treatment??? I proceed to let her know that I will be in contact with them after I go back to the hospital In regards to any legalities. Then the instructor proceeds to tell me that the sign in sheet that I signed in with at the front was essentially is a list of names also releases liability to them. I told the lady to have a nice day and I will be in contact. I am in tears feeling like I don’t matter. Then on a good note the receptionist called me back to tell me that the owners have been contacted and that the lead instructor will be contacting me on Tuesday.

When my wife scheduled her appointment she was told she'd be there about 3 1/2 hours. I called her about a half hour after her appt. time. She did not sound right, I could tell something was wrong. She told me she thought she was going to come home and have her hair done another time. I insisted she stay. The women at Sally's beauty supply know me well. I've helped my wife do her own hair. She hasn't taken time for herself and she was untitled and needed to. With two close family members terminally ill, she deserved a break from hospitals and non stop stress and grief. I am still angry with myself for pressuring her to stay. Somehow we never disconnected from my call to her. I could not believe what I was hearing! Bullying is the only way I can describe the way she was being spoken to. The provocation was continual. They tried harder, became even nastier the more it didn't work. She told the women that she just wanted to leave and
have her hair another time. That escalated the situation. I called her and told her to speak to a supervisor. Things escalated. Immensely. First the lady told her Frank was far too busy and she was the floor superior. She was then TOLD what was being done to her hair, it was being mixed and it was too late for her to change her mind or leave. I had heard enough! I called her back and I told her to speak to the manager or person in charge. Hearing them ABUSING my sweet, beautiful, kind wife. Why did I ask her to stay, report to a superior? I regret not being able to get over there to rescue her. In reading other reviews, the term "gruff" was repeatedly used. Gruff in a salon? Not sound too inviting. It's very illegal to post a false positive review and be compensated for it. I hate to say, it's pretty easy to gather what doesn't belong when reading reviews. How can anyone get away behaving in such a manner. How can a company like Redken associate itself with this school? My wife loved and has always been a devotee of Redken's Shades EQ. No more she says. Never wants to hear about anything Redken.

Tiffany gave me the best cut that I have ever received at a cosmetology school. She listened clearly to what I wanted done and knew when to ask for help from the instructors, as I was asking for a style that she did not have much experience with. Ask for Tiffany!!
I will say that there is an tremendous lack of professionalism from the managers/owners/lead staff during my experience today. My haircut was interrupted more than once. First by a staff member who insisted that the supervisor sign a birthday card as she was supposed to be checking my cut. The supervisor signed the card right on top of the salon counter where I had been seated. Finally, the entire team of students and staff was called to sing "Happy Birthday" in the back office, while all of the clients had their services interrupted and were left to wait until the celebration concluded. Now, I understand that something like this may be unusual but it still tainted my overall experience.
