Attended this school just for the barber program. Soon realized that there was No barber teacher at all around to teach. Schools a major joke ppl graduate with out knowing how to Blend and use razor. Staff especially totally unprofessional and racial profiling.

Wow! I always get my haircut at hair schools and when I called in to schedule an apt with the receptionist at Wayne's, she hung up on me when I asked for a senior to do my hair. All other hair schools that I have been to provide the option of requesting someone that is closer to graduating (A SENIOR). It would have been ok if they didn't offer that, but the receptionist just hung up! I called back thinking we got cut off, but NO! She hung up on purpose and said that I need to go to a salon and talked over me and wouldn't let me get a word in. When I told her that I was going to complain to the manager, she said she is the manager! So basically don't support this kind of a manager that treats people like she does. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH!!! Just to get an idea of how bad it was, this is my first time ever making a review on any kind of service!

When I moved to Salinas a few years ago, I had to switch cosmetology schools. They wouldn't let me use the kit I had from my previous school (even though Moi knew the owner of the school that I transfered from), so I had to buy a new kit. The entire time I was there, I felt like they played favoritism towards certain students who got a variety of clients and procedures through out the day while others got mostly one or two clients and the same procedure over and over again. I didn't feel like the instructors were overly helpful, even for someone who really wanted to learn. Also, the majority of the time I noticed that when students didn't have clients, students were slacking off and not practicing procedures procedures for the state boards (I caught myself doing that a lot too and also the previous school I had went to didn't allow students to slack off.) They also have no ceremony for graduating students, if anything there's a student thrown potluck. I also remember one time I got chewed out by a client for cutting his hair too slow and asking him a few times if the haircut was short enough, the lady that was in charge of assigning clients (I forgot her name, but I think she's Moi's wife) told me to go in the back and had someone else finish the haircut, which in my opinion really didn't facilitate a good learning opportunity or even good moral (and although I was upset, if handled properly the situation could have been an excellent learning experience. I'm not the type of person to just give up) If one is looking for a cosmetology school, I definitely recommend looking elsewhere, unless the policies for students and staff have changed.

I was at Wayne's College of Beauty yesterday and all I wanted was my splitends cut off and bangs. What I got instead of the bangs below my eyebrows (and I showed the "stylist" in training exactly where I wanted them to be) now I have bangs an inch ABOVE my eyebrows and was told rudely by the "instructor" that "When you pull them down below your eyebrows and cut it WILL be above the eyebrows (like I had somehow done the cutting) and now that it's cut there's nothing you can do". and he walked away! It would seem from his age that if he knows anything it's DON"T MESS WITH A MENOPAUSAL WOMAN! Especially one who has access to the internet! What I would have liked was an apoligy, and an offer to try and fix it. So I know it's my fault for choosing the beauty college but I falsely assumed that one of the first lessons would be not to "pull down when you are cutting bangs." Oh and by the way this isn't the only place I'll post this.
