Updated: I went through a month of h-ll trying to get my license updated on their system, with multiple calls, attempts to upload, and twitter requests. Finally encountered Steve from customer service who was able to help me deal with their nasty and byzantine verification system. I am back in business but a bit cautious - hopefully they will improve their customer service and fire the dummies who came up with the license verification scheme (or better yet, subject them to it.) Love the service but their online systems are not for humans.
Original/old review: Car2go is awesome. This service has been indispensable in getting me where I needed to go with no fuss. The price is reasonable, the membership fee is one-time, there are no upsells, and the customer service is splendid. In short, the experience is quite unlike the sleaziness of a typical car rental company.
I wish they expanded to the northern parts of the city but I am happy they are here. The Smart cars need some improvement - the shift from first to second is a bit jarring when one first encounters it. All in all, I am delighted to be a customer.

May 2018 is when I received a notification that I had an outstanding balance and needed to pay it. Okay not an issue, I contact customer service both phone and email. NOTHING is is also NOVEMBER and now my credit scoare is affected because of an issue on their part to fail to charge my card for a reason I STILL don't know. Mind you I have used car2go many months before this issue. I had changed the card on my profile 3 times, called my bank, the whole 360 to get this problem solve. Does car2go care? NOT AT ALL. I have never had a company NOT try and help me and so far that affected my credit score. TERRIBLE customer service that doesn't want to help and obviously don't know their job if they can't tell a customer what is the problem. I LOVE this service but whenever I finish working out this issue, I truly don't want to have anything to do with this company.

Due to circumstances beyond its control, my motorcar has been disabled for a couple of months. I use Lyft to get around but when I have to run errands around town, it can get quite costly using Lyft so in that case, car2go is cost/time effective plus it's nice to style around town in a Mercedes GLA or CLA. I am blessed to have 3 car2go parking spaces at my apartment complex and if one is not available, I just click on the 'radar' to find the nearest which is always less than a half mile away. Insurance is included in the price as well petrol however sometimes I contribute to the cause as a courtesy to the next driver. When I add up what I spend on car2go for the month, it's cheaper than maintaining my motorcar with petrol, insurance, wear and tear so my beloved motorcar may remain disabled for awhile longer.

This is the most expensive option for getting around town. You're advertising for them driving too, and they treat their customers terribly. Was with a friend driving. Had an issue with the car so we pulled over. Closed out the rental. Called customer service about the issue to which they said they'd escalate it to member services and then LOCKED THE ACCOUNT. For no reason they locked us out of the car and we couldn't rerent. We were also in the middle of nowhere, off the highway and it was 101 degrees. They never told us just calling to ask questions would lock the account. We called back and after 7 min on hold we're told nothing they can do, account is automatically locked when there's a claim on an account.. Also they knew it was hot and we were stranded from the first call and were never told that the account would get locked and that we could rerent. Crazy experience. I was shocked. Will never rent ever again
