It was my first time going to this nail salon and I would not go back all because of my negative experience with the receptionist. When I first arrived (on time) for my appointment, the technician was running a little bit behind. No problem, I sat there and drank some green tea while waiting. When it was my turn to go, I was excited because I specifically picked this place to do my wedding manicure/pedicure. The technician was extremely helpful in assisting me to pick out a design and color that worked well for my nails. She was truly an artist and did a phenomenal job on my nails however the receptionist kept asking her how long it was going to be, when she was going to finish. The appointment started 15 minutes late, and now this receptionist was rushing my appointment to try to get it back on schedule. Even the technician had to say she was finishing up and was not trying to rush because THESE ARE MY WEDDING NAILS. When it came time to pay, I felt like I was being nickel and dimed. In total with a gel manicure/pedicure I was at $169 and when I tried to tip I was told how much tip to leave. Nowhere did it state how much was the minimum and I felt like my tip was not stingy at all, yet I was made to feel this way. She also felt it necessary to charge me $1 for 2 stones, (one of them in the picture below). As a customer, I am spending a lot of money and you are trying to extract even more money for me by counting this tiny speck of a stone? It was infuriating and I will can't believe after all I spent, more money was still asked for.

Definitely make an appointment before coming and this location only does gel polish. Cute and cozy place to get gorgeous nail and designs done.

Akiko Nails on Rivington has an Amazing crew of talented Nail Specialists. They only do gel manicures and more etc. They do offer a pedicure station but only 1. The true focus is on the nails, nail extensions and design. The nail specialists are true artists and when you leave you will be happy.

Incredible incredible. My manicure was just ow I liked it, beautifully brushed, intricate AND lasted NEARLY 4 WHOLE weeks. It held up so well and I will absolutely be returning.
