I came in for an all over color and cut. When I booked my appt, I was told that the person I was booked with was the most experienced. The color turned out well but she didnt pin my hair up and let the wet dye sit on my neck and ears. She messed up the cut completely giving it a huge angle which isnt what I asked for. But Im new to the area and figured that I just need to search for another place and explain better next time.Well, as I wore the cut I realized that she did a bold chop cut with no blending at all and my angle isnt even an angle. Its straight in the back and then cliff dives to a completely different length, again with no blending. Im a pretty understanding and passive person so I usually wouldnt comment. But this was bad.

I called a week in advance to schedule an appointment for 4:30 PM on a Friday, at first I had asked for either Wednesday or Thursday and was told that nothing was available but they had Friday at 4:30 open. I was a new customer and I arrived at 4:30 and was greeted by the person who was suppose to cut my hair. She informed me that she was running about 20 minutes behind. I told her that was no problem as I understand that people get behind. I sat down and waited, there was a lady in the chair at her workstation and I was facing the front door with my back to her work station. The lady that she was working on left at 4:40, I figured that I was next since my appointment was at 4:30. At 4:50 another lady walked into the business, I had seen her outside as I walked in at 4:30, she was on the phone. About 10 minutes later she walked out to have a smoke, her hair was wet and she had a towel around her shoulders and at 5:10 she came back in. I turned around to see what the hold up was with my appointment since she told me it would only be 20 minutes and it now had been 40 since my appointment time. When I turned around I saw the lady that had gone outside to smoke sitting in the chair and the person I had the appointment with was combing out her hair and talking to her about it getting long. I turned back around was wondering why I had not been called back prior to this woman who had gone outside to smoke. After awhile I looked at my watch and saw that it was 5:30 and I heard someone ask me if I was waiting on someone. I turned around to see the nail technician and another lady who was getting her nails done. I asked her if she was talking to me and the lady she was working on said yes, are you waiting on someone. I told her yes and that I had an appointment. The nail technician asked me with who and I told her. I stood up and told her I could not wait any longer and asked her if she was the owner, she pointed at the lady that was working at the first booth and I walked over to the counter. The lady I had the appointment with was just now starting to cut the other woman's hair so I knew it would be awhile before she would even get to me. The nail technician told the owner I wanted to speak to her about my appointment. After a moment she come over to the counter and asked if she could help me, I told her that I just wanted to tell her that I could not wait any longer, that my appointment was scheduled for 4:30. She looked at the clock on the wall and said okay. I left, and drove home. At 6:00 I my phone rang and since I did not recognize the number I let it go to voice mail. It was the lady I had the appointment with, calling to apologize about the fact that I had to wait so long and that it was unacceptable that I had to do that. She told me that she hoped I would call her back and schedule another appointment and that the cut would be on her.
I thought about it and my response to her is NO, I don't know why you were running late but your right that was extremely unacceptable. The whole reason people make appointments is because they have places they need to be and yes I can understand being a few minutes behind schedule. But if you accepted a walk-in that took you longer than it should have then that walk-in should have been told that you would not have time because you had appointments scheduled and to make an appointment or come back tomorrow. I have walked into a business to get my hair cut and have been told that they were too busy and I could either come back the next day or make an appointment. That is the main reason I make an appointment now is because I don't want to take up someone else's time slot that did make the appointment. I won't be going back to Hair designs, I will find some place else to get my hair done. I was a new customer and they lost my business and all because one person cannot manage time better. No person should have to wait over an hour after their appointment time and that does not matter if it is a salon or any other place of business.
