My nails look great. The service was not so great. And when they charged me $50 more than they were supposed to? Also not so great. I went to Illusions having read the reviews about them being racist towards people of color, but I took it with a grain of salt. Innocent until proven guilty. Well, then they spoke to my white friend the entire time instead of to me, offering her water, hand lotion, shellac or however you spell it, etc. She was sweet enough to look at me every time and ask me what I wanted too. When they charged me, I used a $75 gift card. Lanny, who did my nails, charged me $25 more. I was surprised that the whole service cost so much. Lanny insisted that I needed to pay $25 even though I asked him if it wasn't that my card had $25 more. It wasn't until I brought my white friend into it that it got cleared up: no, I didn't owe him $25. I did have $25 left on gift card. They finally believed me and voided the card and hopefully I'll get my money back (he had already taken my credit card). My advice: If you're going to go to Illusions Nail Spa, take a white person with you. Otherwise, just don't go. Also if you care about racism, just don't go.

I came with a group of people at the last minute, and they handled our crowd with ease. Our nails looked great and the people were attentive

Astonishingly subpar every time. I have given this business three chances. The first time, a few years ago, I went in for a simple shellac manicure. There were several clients but enough staff. I was rushed through and the polish didn't last 2 weeks. Another time, about a year later, I made an appointment, 2 weeks in advance, with a particular staff member (she still works there) to do nails for my engagement photos. ONE HOUR before my appointment, she texted me to say she would not be at work that day. I was leaving town and had to scramble. Finally, recently, I went in to enjoy their nicest pedicure ($60), a gift from someone else to me. I was one of two clients in the salon, had made an appointment in advance, but was still rushed! This was supposed to be a spa-like experience. The OWNER distractedly gave a very light, half-hearted leg massage while speaking to her co-workers the whole time. The entire service from arrival to finish was 45 minutes. Again, for a $60 pedicure. I noticed that they gossiped about clients after those clients left the salon. The pedicure did not include adequate cuticle care, had uneven polish, and looked like a week old pedicure from the moment she was done. Two of the nails weren't even fully painted, so I kindly asked if she wouldn't mind fixing this and she flat out refused! If this is how the owner acts when they're not busy, then imagine what it's like with a less experienced person when they are busy. Then, because the shop was dead, I wanted to relax in the chair, but was rushed out before my nails even dried. You know, there are signs in there that say, "if you're unhappy, let us know [a telltale sign that a lot of customers have been unhappy]." But, given that they talk about clients behind their backs and had already refused to **paint the whole nail**, I thought this would be futile. I still tipped on the entire amount, was polite, but vowed to never return and to warn others. What was supposed to be a relaxing experience turned into something very irritating and a huge waste of money. If this place weren't in Green Hills, it would surely be out of business by now.

This shop is located in Green Hills so they are use to their cliental looking a certain way(white). I'm a black male so they probably don't get a lot of us that come in. When I walked in I didn't get a "Hello how are you!", I just got stares from the customers AND the employees. The lady that did my pedicure looked completely irritated that she had to service me! She rushed the pedicure and didn't even massage at the end of it. When she was done she just walks off to the counter where you pay and waited for me. After I paid she walked off because I didn't tip her(I normally tip atleast $10 for a pedicure when its done properly and I'm not being judged as soon as I walk in the door!). May I also add that I wasn't offered water or wine, but they we're asking others!

I have been client of Illusion Nail Spa since the day they have been opened and I’m their regular customer. I have had a good experience so far every time either I booked or just walked-in there. I know the Owner of the place Daisy and she’s the kindest Customer Service Representative. I like the place and location, the way they do manicure and pedicure, and their technicians and always hoping for good one.
