I had a gel acrylic fill and gel pedicure. I went there with my sister and my niece. They did a horrendous job on my nails. They were shaped and filed crooked. The gel polish was too thick. For my gel pedicure they applied lotion to my feet and then forgot to remove the oil from my pedicure. I got home and my polish looked matte. So disappointing. This is what I get for venturing away from my usual place. Blackhawk nails is overpriced. Every time I go there I’m disappointed. One of the most expensive salons in the area and the quality doesn’t match the price. They deserve 1/2 stars.

I stopped going here after walking away frustrated many times. I really like Jade so I didn’t want to find a new place, but my gel manicures never last and the ladies just seem to keep getting sloppy in their technique. Feels like they just push you in and out.

I got a shellac manicure the day before thanksgiving, literally a day and a half later, on one nail the shellac chipped off. I went back and showed them and they redid the one nail that chipped. Now, not even a week later, all the shellac on my nails has chips or the shellac has almost completely come off. They use DND shellac which I guess is extremely cheap and chips so bad. I would of been better off getting a normal manicure with normal polish. You pay way extra just to get shellac so It lasts around two weeks and this shellac didn’t even last a week for $35.00. Not worth it and won’t be going back.

I had just gotten my nails done 4 days prior to an event and checked with the manager if the regular nail polish would last for 6-7 days and she said yes no problem. Based on her recommendation I opted for a regular vs a gel polish I was very careful not to use my hands a lot to preserve them for my event. Well the polish chipped off and just before my event I had to carve out extra time to get a retouch. They were good enough to get me in and out in time but I was surprised that they charged me the full amount for a re-coat of polish. I felt they should have stood by their work having assured me that this will last and at least extended the courtesy of a free coat and or a reduced price. Of course I felt obliged to tip the operator a second time. In all I spent more than I would have with a gel option and came away with the feeling that the simple courtesy would have ensured my loyalty .
