Stayed 3 nights on a Fri-Sun in mid-Aug. Room was clean, but there is a urine smell in some of the hallways. Generally, the facility is neat and clean. Beds were nice and comfortable. There are no laundry facilities on site, but there is a cleaners across the street. A little pricey ($180/night) to sleep in a bed and take a shower. Some of the tiles in the shower were delaminated, and the bath faucet ran continuously (not just a drip). I couldn't muscle it closed, but reported it to the front desk. Grounds were nice and well-kept. I would have to need to stay in the immediate area to stay again. Overall, on the positive side of satisfactory.

For the price that you pay a night I don't believe it's worth it. The room was decent but contained no refrigerator or microwave. It had no gym or exercise room no free continental breakfast but it did have a cafe inside where you could order and buy meals. The pool and bar next to the pool are great!! The best part of the hotel was the service very friendly and attentive so helpful!!

DO NOT trust the pictures. its an old facility with terrible customer service, once you step in to the lobby you'll be slapped by the disgusting odor, it smells like a fish tank! you can smell the moist and there is no refrigerator in the room (It's a +90 degrees summer!) the walls are so thin and you can hear the next room, it seems they had lots of fun but i bet that i didn't want to hear that for the whole night! kids playing in the hallway all the time and where slamming the doors consistently! i reported that to the front desk, but they didn't take any action. not to mention that they had loud music at the pool all day long, i understand that people want to have fun around the pool, but there are other guests that may need some peace and quiet. the very last thing that pissed me off was after i arrived back home, i figured i left my suits behind. i gave them a call right away, no answer, the next day i called 4-5 times and talked to the guy at front desk and he directed me to room services, there was no answer so i left voicemails. the same thing on next day and same thing today, finally today the guy at the front desk told me that they found my stuff and connected me to the room services so i can talk to the room services manager, guess what? again no answer and i left the last one voicemail. then i called the hotel again and asked for the manager on duty, the guy told me the MOD has no access to the R.S stuff! is that possible for real?!

I appreciate the history of this place, although the grounds and gardens of lore are long gone or off-limits at this point. The rooms are okay, decent for the price I suppose. The service was friendly but off, maybe they were more focused on selling pool passes than taking care of hotel customers? I enjoyed my visit but probably would not book again.

On the last night of my stay here my friend and I encountered a cockroach the size of a small mouse in our room. After it crawled all over our clothes and our toiletries (including toothbrushes), Alfredo from the cleaning staff was kind enough to kill it for us. The next morning we had to check out early and no manager was available to speak to us about the issue, but I was told to contact the manager Stephen Chavez. Since then (three weeks ago) I have left two emails and three voicemails for Stephen, and have been told twice I would get a callback from the other female manager who is new to the hotel. I have yet to receive any contact from management regarding this issue during our stay. I’m extremely dissatisfied with the quality of our stay and the lack of response from the hotel management. I’ll be reporting this concern to the LA Department of Public Health. Update: I spoke with another manager Paula, who argued that “we are in a natural habitat with vegetation” and that “these incidents happen”. After explaining to her the damage to my belongings, she has offered to issue a partial refund for the last night of my stay, but has refused to state how much just yet. She said she is going to contact me by email with details, but I would not be surprised if I have to call the front desk several times before getting through to her again.
