Harlem Renaissance is rapidly approaching and the Harlem of my Youth is long gone.The prices can get steep but as of yet some normal pricing. Look around for the best deal and try the local food. This might be a problem because all of the big box restaurants have moved in.

Bustling shopping area, with a diversity of stores. Things are changing drastically in this historic Harlem community as eminent has force so many African American and small businesses out! Even the face of the famed Apollo Theater has changed to cater a less African American demographic.
Lot of new brand name businesses are popping up along this retail strip, including a new hotel, and a Whole Foods Market. These are some of the good things that are finally happening in Harlem. But for us, It's still sad to see such a drastic change, with no apparent benefit for the African Americans that have lived in this community for so long.

The center of the black Renaissance. Hurry tho! Gentrification is raping the culture. It may soon be gone...
