Professional and friendly. Get on the boat first to get a good spot. They had limited chairs available so some of us on deck had to stand the entire duration and there wasn't much room or things to hold on to. Just depends on how many other guests are on the boat with you. On the way back we were able to get chairs. Over all I had a fantastic experience, and those views are to die for!

Step back into time and learn a part of Gullah history. The island was rich with indigo and cotton plantations in the mid 18th Century. Book a ferry through the OFFICIAL, Daufuskie Island Ferry. Judy is a gem and will arrange your golf cart or bike as no cars are allowed. Take the self guided history route but I would also recommend spending more time taking a later ferry to go see the wildlife areas. There is a rookie, that we missed, but did see 4 bald eagles in flight. I would love to be there during turtle season when you can observe egg laying, hatchlings and locals who are on watch to help them get to sea. If I ever get back this way, I would surely do this! You cannot miss a meal at Lucy Bells. There are special everyday and the owners are hysterical entertainers as they serve up mounds of scrumptious eats! Call Judy and plan your day, or better yet spend a night on the island. Be aware if you do a google you may end up with another company that is listed similarly, but they only offer a group tour one time during the day and their golf carts are gas and not electric. Met several wonderful locals who moved to the island from the mainland to live in natural serenity.

Trip was fine. Left and arrived pretty much as scheduled. The only problem was with the deck hand Gene (I guess that's the term). He didn't seem to know what he was doing as he checked peoples tickets. He spent most of the 50 minute trip arguing with about half the groups about verifying the tickets they bought online. Every time it was exactly the same...he asks for a number, the people give it to him, he says that's not it, they say that's the only number they have, argue argue argue for about 5 minutes, he relents and says "ok, let me try it", and it works.

After spending my whole life going to Tyber and the GA coast I finally made it to Daufuskie and am I glad it did! This secret treasure of a place was made so easily accessible by the men of Daufuskie Island Ferry. They where all so LOVELY. One tip they run on time so make sure to get there a few minutes early.
