I have been going here for years now and have always had a good experience. I was spending almost $200 to get my hair washed, cut, colored, foiled and/or highlighted, dried and a tip to create the illusion of sun streaked hair from laying on the beach and to not have it look fake at a salon. Now I go to empire. A consult is done with the customer and the desired procedures are discussed with the instructor before the process is begun. The students are watched closely by instructors and instructors also check each phase of the process. Students, teachers and other customers have commented to me as I was leaving that my hair came out awesome. I understand teachers or students complimenting but when other customers do, that means something. Several students have asked my permission to take before and after photos for their portfolio. The school keeps a record of each visit and what the student does to my hair and the color mix for future students. I will say I had one cut that was just not quite short enough and when I talked to the instructor that was at the check in/check out desk she told me just come back tomorrow and we will fix it for free. During my visits to the school I have never seen a client leave that had a 'bad hairdo.' I recommend Empire Beauty School in Hyannis to everyone. The cost at Empire is based on the cost of the materials used but I tip based on what I would pay at a full service salon (usually $20.00-$25.00) and I have never paid more than $55.00 for everything. I also occasionally get a upper lip, eyebrow and chin wax which I have had no problem with either.
