I came in over the long holiday weekend to get the SNS Dip Powder Manicure. I was told that the service is $37, which I thought is great, considering many other salons charge almost $10 more for it. The technician handed me 3 rings of colors to select from. Obviously, since there's so many to choose from, I couldn't decide right away, and the tech seemed a bit impatient by this. When I finally told him the selected color, he said next time I should just grab 1 ring. I thought that was rude, but shrugged it off. The technician (don't know his name, but it is a man) foiled some of my fingers to remove the old dip powder ( I was def 3 weeks overdue). The fingers that weren't foiled, he went ahead and applied the clear coat and THEN proceeded to dip my finger into the powder!!! I immediately asked the tech if he was going to clean my nails first (i.e. file, clean cuticles, clean underneath my nails, etc) and he said it would cost me an additional $5 for him to do that!! I immediately ended the service. I grabbed the menu and showed him it says Manicure, which means nails should automatically be cleaned prior to being polished (whether Dip, Gel, Acrylic, etc). This is extremely unsanitary. It also got me realizing later on that I didn't notice any sanitizing ovens for the tools. After all my complaining, all I got was a pathetic "sorry" and "this is our policy" along with dumb excuses about the labor to clean nails!!! Who goes in to get their nails done expecting to remind the technician to clean their nails first!!?? For those who are considering trying Lux for the first time, please read and think twice. For regulars, please sit back after reading this and think about the cleanliness or lack thereof of Lux. Never ever again!
