Flew all the way from Tokyo and these ladies took good care of me as soon as I got off the plane! Even catered to my schedule and the service was lovely! Warm environment, warm welcome and best of all, I got exactly what I wanted. The nails are good quality for good prices! My nails are still intact after 3-4 weeks! I wouldn’t dare let anyone else try to fill in if it’s not in the works of Ms. Ivy🤍

Emmy was so friendly, clean, and professional. I loved the designs she did, these were all her own creations. I will definitely be back to see her very soon! I recommend Royal Nails for all your nail care needs. Everyone is friendly and very skilled

Awful and unprofessional experience! The salon was empty! Only one client doing her nails, and 2 technicians there. I picked the color for my pedicure while the technician was on her phone. She turned the water on and went back to her phone. I waited 5 min with my feet in the water (while she was still checking her phone) and then she grabbed the phone and keys and told me “I’ll be right back”. I had to leave the place since I had somewhere else to be and she told me over the phone that my appointment would only take 30 min. Definitely not coming back to this salon!

I went in for a dip manicure. While the staff was overly nice, I believe it was just to make me uncomfortable about saying something about the quality of the manicure. I had to file them to the shape that I wanted after I got home even though i kept explaining what I wanted. More disappointing is that they did not take the time to apply enough coats to get the right color. I chose a pale pink but i can see through it to my actual nail and the plastic tip they added for length. They kept saying how pretty my nails were but I'm going to have to paint over and hope for the best.

I called Thuy,’s Nail School locates @ 50 S. Pickett Street, Alexandria twice before I made an appointment for Wednesday, September 25th. Once you arrive there, it is Royal Nail Salon. At the time of my calls, I inquired about the price for having dipping powder. It was communicated to me that it would be $25 and $5 for tips to be put on. I was informed that this was the price for a student to complete my nails. On my second call, I decided to make an appointment. Once I arrived, I was greeted by a female who I took to be the owner. I informed her that I had a 3:00 o’clock for the dipping powder. She stated she remembered me calling. I said I want dipping powder with tips. She looked @ my nails and said$30 + $5 for tips. I was surprised by this since I was quoted a different price @ the time I made the appointment. Once seated (I am accustomed to be given the nail ring with all the colors. This did not happen.) in front of two individuals (the instructor and student). The instructor began to cut my natural nails completely off. I said no to her. She insisted that it was better for the tips to be secure. Bear in mind, I have been doing the dipping powder for a year & a half and NO ONE has ever completely cut my nails off. At this point, I was at her mercy. The student just sat there. The instructor said to me “did you pick out a color?” I said no while finding her question odd since she never gave me the color wheel and both my hands were being utilized by her and the student - clipping my nails off. As the instructor was getting closer to starting the dipping powder process, she started being rude to me saying did you pick out your color in a very nasty manner. I replied no because you did not give me the opportunity to. She said in a very harsh tone “you have been here for 30 minutes and you need to hurry up because the student has to leave. I replied“ you are very rude and you should have not made the appointment if you do not have the appropriate time to complete my nails and I will not be coming back here.” The instructor continued to do my nails in a rush manner. The student departed @ 4. At that time, another female came out and confronted the instructor about why she did not let her do my nails? Well, a full blown argument ensued. The instructor kept trying to tell her that I called a couple of days ago and asked for the student to do my nails and even said to me that didn’t you call a couple of days ago and ask for the student to do your nails? They started conversing in their native language in raised voices @ each other. I had never witnessed anything like this before in a place of business. Very unprofessional. The individual was very mad. She took off her white jacket that they wear and retrieved her pocketbook and walked out. An individual walked in @ about 4:20 for her 4:30 appointment and after waiting for a period of time, she went outs and placed a call. She came back in and stated that she found someone else to do her nails. She departed @ 4:50 pm. My nails look like an amateur did then when in actuality the instructor did them. The nail color is lighter where the tips are and where the tips are glued on p, it is not a smooth effect. The place did not look like a school @ all. There was only one student. It was a nail salon. I see by the reviews this is not the first incident. I will be reporting this to DPOR. DO NOT UTILIZE THIS BUSINESS - ROYAL NAIL SALON - 50 S. Pickett Street, Alexandria, VA
