This is a real college Chris Lyon. I attend this college and it's great. The teachers are great and there is alot of programs that helps us students. Folsom lake college is a wonderful school to attend.

This review has nothing to do with the quality of classes which is great in my opinion but more so with the old negrophobic employee named Joyce Heiland who works behind the front desk and called police on me on Friday 08/24/18. As a student who has taken classes here and at every Los Rios college, I didn't think it would be an issue to come to the campus and use wi fi to verify/renew my student discount for apple music since it is the closest campus to my job. This malignantly ignorant woman kept asking me if I needed help and I told her that I didn't. I then overheard her on the phone describing me to police and telling them that I wouldn't tell her why I was there. To be clear, asking someone if they need assistance and asking them why they are present in a particular place are two entirely different questions and framing things to police in terms that paint a person as a threat can get said person killed for no apparent reason as we've all seen happen on countless occasions. Thankfully the police woman who showed up also thought it was an instance of racially motivated fear and odd that this person had called the authorities since there was no crime or threat of one in progress. Joyce Heiland said she called them because the campus is near a light rail station and things happen but (here comes that cliche statement, you ready?!)--> I doubt she does that to young white students who say they don't need help when asked. I reported her to the school but doubt any serious action was taken regarding her culturally clueless conduct. She is a senior employee who has probably worked there since I was in diapers and can't be seriously disciplined since she's most likely on her way to retirement.

I have been here a few times, not to attend classes but mainly to talk to front desk staff. They do not care about your time. They do not care about sending you away or providing incorrect and incomplete information, which is going to make you have to return to this office multiple times. Awful. They do not provide updates and they don’t answer the phone. For example, I had been calling financial aid the past week and it would keep sending me to voicemail. I decided to drive there (they are only open three days a week) and once I arrive: Surprise! Came to find out they were out of the office, when they were supposed to be open. The other staff wouldn’t take my documents, so I have to end up going all the way to Folsom. My two cents, save your time and just go to the main campus.
