We love to stay at the Bothwell and do so every year when we come to town. The rooms are clean, very old world and with the new updated bathrooms very enjoyable. Yes the bathrooms are small but well turned out, functional, and have everything you need. There were 2 things this time that kept us from giving a 5 star rating. The 1st being they changed all of the mattresses. I do understand that the old, very fluffy and deep mattresses would not be to everyone's liking but we LOVED them. That was one of the big reasons we looked forward to our stay. However, they were replaced with exceptionally hard, VERY uncomfortable mattresses that I would more expect to find in say a Motel 6. I probably would have been better off to put the comforter on the floor they were that hard. I woke up so sore and stiff that it was hard to get moving. Not like the days of old when you had to pry me out of their beds after a wonderful nights sleep. The second was when we were checking in the only person working the desk was on the phone and we had to wait a long time after an exhausting day to check in. Per all of my training the customer in front of you is more important than the one on the phone and as it appeared they could not make up their minds what kind of room they wanted and the exact dates and the receptionist was going into great detail of the amenities in each type of room, the layout, etc... I believe she should have put them on hold, checked us in, and then went back to them verses letting us stand there and wait, especially as it was after 10:30pm. But we will of course stay there again next year as we do love the Bothwell. I only hope they once again get new mattresses or at least try memory foam toppers.

The Spa is warm and inviting with professional and friendly staff! I had a wonderful experience! Thank you Delanie for a great hair cut! Hope to be back soon!

The front desk ladies were extremely frinedly, the housekeeping did a great job, and the hotel is just full of 1900's charm! Would recommend anyone looking for a nice friendly and charming place to stay!

Not impressed with the spa... Got there for our appointments, got us in right on time. However, the massage therapist kept mixing essential oils or different scents, which took a lot of time away from the actual massage. Our appointments were for 80 minutes and they finished at 50 minutes, while we were wondering what was going on, they came back and had us get back on the table for another 30 minutes. I have been a member at massage envy for years, and just felt like therapist didn't really know what she was doing. Just my 2 cents....
