My daughter and I moved to Michigan two years ago. She had to switch high schools being an out of state student. This has been the worst high school we could have ever chosen, and I am furious I have allowed this to go on for too long! To any parent thinking of choosing Lake Orion High School, as a school for them -think long and hard if you have a diverse background, culture differences, and I’ll just be blunt -not white! This school does not embrace diversity, being of color, being different. It’s just sickening to think that some parents still teach their children they are better, or owed something because they are white! This school will forever be a disgrace and a hated memory for the rest of our lives! The staff at Lake Orion do nothing to improve the situation, they brush it under the ground and move about their day because it’s not a worry for them. It’s only a 1% population, compared to all students. Lake Orion High School you need to work on creating a wanted atmosphere when you are different, and of a diverse background. You may indulge in exchange students, but I know for a fact they don’t feel wanted. The stigma surrounding this school is: clickish, not accepting of other races, and if this is something that you want to be proud of, then shame on you!

This school has been a good school to my girls. My daughter had graduated and had a scholarship in art. My other daughter is getting good grades. I'm glad I picked this school for my kids.
