Hello Everyone, I am here to shed the truth on Evil Lynn’s bad review. Let me first state that I am a Black African American Women and I love my own kind immensely and will never stop. So often in the customer service industry, in which I am in as well for the city of New York. As a Black African American Women experience so much with my minority, and it is our own kind that will not only try to bring us down but also be the first runner-up in doing so. This young lady Evil Lynn walked into Free Edge nail salon at 6 pm on Friday night with her headphones in her ear listening to music. Upon Evil Lynn entering Free Edge the only nail tech that was not only present but was also servicing a client and had another waiting. Stated that she needed her nails down and insisted that she be serviced today because her son had just put her in a seventeen dollar cab to the nail salon. The nail tech when told by Evil Lynn that she needed to be serviced calmly and respectfully told her that there was no open availability and that she could call back tomorrow to see if she would be able to get an appointment. Well, well Evil Lynn at first didn't even hear the nail tech because she had her earphones still in her ear. So after she decided to take them out and the nail tech repeated herself, Evil Lynn didn't appreciate that, she looked around the salon and stated ”well I don't see anyone”. Let me say this everyone the situation went to even myself saying to the young lady Evil Lynn that she stated to you when you first walked in but you couldn't hear her because you had your earphones in. Evil Lynn then said to me ” Shut Up B&$@# I don't even know you!”. It didn't stop there neither she went on about that's what's wrong with black owned businesses and what, how they should be ran. Well hello Evil Lynn remember me 👋🏽. Let me say this too you, the way that you conducted yourself I am ashamed by your action first as one of your Black Sisters. I am appalled that you would come on the internet and not only lie but also try and tear down the nail tech and the Black Owned Nail Salon. I'm going to do us all a favor and cash app you the fair back, just send me your cash app name. I pray that you find self-love along with some morals, principals and a little honesty. You are a poor representation for all women no matter what race. I am going to conclude this by asking any and everyone to not only check out this business but also support it and make your own judgment call........... Thank you ✊🏽

Heavy-set Nail Tech in back chair very unpleasant. I arrived enthusiastic about GOING BLACK. Needless to say I Ubered crosstown for $18.00 only to be told "I have clients coming you will have to come back tomorrow" with the some Black Woman Attitude and Rude Sass. {I am 100% Black, l get to say that .. Lol} Poor customer service recovery to say the least. I redirected her to the website which clearly indicated that walk-ins were accepted up to 1hr before closing. She was rude and arrogant. PERIOD. Exclaiming that she had "a 5.0 rating" further stating that I "Black women like me don't deserve her service". And that she has been doing it for "20 years!" Place has 3 nail stations, 3 pedicure stations, small but clean. Decor is nice. She is a buzz kill for the entire Black Nail Salon Movement... For me anyway. I tried to give her some overdue but much needed feedback about her initial approach to no avail. She is just a tough-headed pig, in many ways... I was told not to come back....nice right ?? Now you get the picture. And I won't. You shouldn't either. Takes more than Biggie Smalls in the background to sway me. This bad experience hurts more from my own kind.... Sweetie you are not in a position to be so uninviting and argumentative... She needs something to mellow her out. Off to my regular Asian Nail Shop on Flatbush ave I go... Gladly!!!!!!! Free Edge is a Red Black and Green NO GO for me. ~STARR'S WORDS

This is a cute Black-owned salon. Great experience today. Got a foil design for the first time and was impressed. Prices are very reasonable compared to other salons in the area.

( insert sigh) I was so excited to come here. For one, the reviews were good and two it’s black owned. But sadly, I got subpar service. The women who worked on me really tried, but the skill just wasn’t there. Also, online it says showroom gel manicure/ pedi combo, which is deceiving because the reader assumes that you get gel for both your feet and hands but it is a gel for hands and regular nail polish for feet. So I paid more than I originally thought for ehhh service. I mentioned this to the owner but nothing was done. I won’t be coming back.

Quality service. Polite staff. Nice relaxing vibe! I Suggest making an appointment but only because it's a small but quaint place. Officially in my list of go-tos!!
