I don’t know why people gave such negative feedback to Windsor Oak Grove. To be fair, I wanna give my own honest feedback. I’ve been living here for 2 years and just renewed for the third year. We absolutely love this place and always very proud to introduce friends for visiting. All our friends and family who visited us loved their staying too. I highly recommend this place based on the following reason: 1. It’s very family oriented, with all the facilities you need, gym, nice and clean garden, swimming pool, BBQ, etc; 2. It’s so convenient, only 5-10 min walk to T, and next to Pink bank park, you can go running and do sports at the sports field. 3. All the staff are very nice and friendly. Kevin from the management office is so friendly and responsive, maintenance staff are very helpful too, when any problem, they will come to check ASAP. The only downside I would say, I wish to have a patio, but there are very few apartments have patios. And the rent has been increasing too much, from 2500 two zzyear ago to almost 3000/mth now. Overall, I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a comfortable relaxing home.

This is a honest review of what happened to me. We live in top of the floor and there’s a huge rumbling noise coming from central AC on the roof 24/7. It makes the place unlivable. I ask them to fix it and they said nothing they can do. Instead they offer me to transfer to another unit. I’m fine with it even though we don’t want to move at all. But they asked us to PAY $300 MORE per month instead because each unit is “priced individually”. This does not make sense since we don’t want to move but have to because of the unbearable noise. Seriously? The noise is affecting our mental health and we can’t fall asleep at night and they want to charge more? We just moved in 3 months ago! They say that they do me a favor and waived my transfer fee. Yes they list a few options, but all of those are unfair which basically a rip off no matter what. They will talk nice to you, but it doesn’t solve any real problem. We are at no fault but end up paying more rent and the hassle of moving. We are very disappointed and this is the most ridiculous thing I even been through.

The two stars are for the convenience to the Orange line and the package concierge service. The initial leasing agent lied to us repeatedly on a number of issues and it took contacting the main corporate office to get them to do anything. The walls were fairly thin but the floors/ceilings are much worse. We had repeated issues with our upstairs neighbors that would keep us up until 11:00 PM - 1:00 AM, despite the fact that the community claims to have mandatory quiet hours after 8:00pm. We were told that the community could not do anything about this except ask them to be quiet. Aside from the noise issue the doors to the main hallways were so undersized that there was an inch + gap at the base and a small one around the rest of the door. For a "Luxury Apartment" it would have been nice to not have to hear and smell everything going on in the hallway or neighboring apartments, one of the units in the building would leave their door open into the hallway when cooking so the whole floor would smell like their dinner each day. The water bill for 2 people in this community was laughable, each month was more than many of the people I talked to pay for a year for a house and watering lawns etc. The Best thing the community did was not trying to fight the fact that they broke the landlord tenant agreement per MA g.l. Ch 186 sec 14. The people were always nice but really only cared about getting your money and not your well-being. If the main thing you are looking for is a place close to the T this is an acceptable apartment aside from that I would recommend looking somewhere else.

I am not one who normally writes reviews, but my recent bad experience with this property warrants my sharing with others so they are aware of how little they care about their current tenants. This became evident when my lease came up for renewal, and they increased the rent by 6%. When I approached the leasing agent (who is very nice, btw), she informed me that my 6% was actually on the low end... She said it went up by 12% for others! The other 7 apartment complexes I've talked to said 6-12% is EXTREMELY high as they increase by 2-6% each year, depending on several factors. I didn't need to talk to these other apartment complexes to know that 6% is high but what infuriated me was their inflexibility to budge or compromise even just a little. This speaks volumes about how little they value their current residents and how much more they care about making a buck. Disgraceful! Other CONS: the walls are super thin, the washer/dryers are small, trash receptacle areas are often overflowing, heat insulation is terrible, water bill is very high (I think this is true for most Melrose residents in general), and the large fans in the garage are VERY loud (sounds like a jet engine). To be fair, here are a few PROS: convenience of the Orange line, concierge personnel are great, maintenance team is responsive and friendly. So, if you want to live at a place that only cares about your money, hikes up your rent every year regardless of whether you're a good tenant, and doesn't value it's current residents, then Windsor at Oak Grove is for you!

My wife and I lived here 2 years and very much enjoyed our stay. Apartments are well priced considering some of the nearby competition for commuter-friendly complexes. Maintenance was always prompt and courteous. Garage parking is a huge bonus for the winter months, and the common areas such as the fitness center, bathrooms, and pool are well taken care of. The front office was very helpful to work with us when we purchased a house and were planning to move out. Living here was a pleasant experience.
