I love the gel nails from Boudoir Nail Bar in Chula Vista. I drive almost 30 minutes from where I live because they are so much better than the other nail salons in my neighborhood. I love chatting with Nora, the salon owner, when I see her here. I also run my own business so I love talking with another strong, woman business owner!

Over priced for the quality of work. I had a total of ten crystals added to two nails and the charge was 20 dollars. My acrylics were too thick and not smoothed down appropriately ( a tad lumpy). I had asked for glitter on two nails and one nail only got one coat, which looked drastically different than the other. Gel polish is also 20 dollars. I am not a cheapskate by any means, I usually spend 80-100 every time I go the the nail salon plus a generous tip, which I still gave the girl at Boutique. The receptionist was not very friendly or warm. I also feel like the employees clothing was inappropriate (some not all). They were basically wearing street clothes (short shorts) and it just didn't give a professional feel. My pedicure was great but the conversation with employee was strange. I tried this spot out to see what the hype was about, and it was lack luster. I have returned to my normal nail shop as my tech is back from vacation. She was not impressed with the work either.

My husband has a thing for my nails. I don’t know what it is, but we don’t need to get into all that lol. Anyways, I decided to visit Boudoir Nail Bar for a French manicure to surprise my husband on his birthday. My nails turned out perfect and needless to say my husband loved it. You know what they say, happy husband, happy life. Thanks Boudoir!

I am writing this review on behalf of my sister, who unfortunately for her didn't have a great experience. My sister is not one to make time for herself. I made the appointment for her and in all honesty she was only going to Boudoir because of my experience (which have always been positive) My sister, who doesn't have a lot of experience going to nail salons didn't choose a color a head of time, she was instructed to go a find a color, when she finally found her color the tech advised her that she needed a "gel polish" my sister asked for her assistance to find one and unfortunately none of the colors available were close to what my sister initially wanted, by this time the nail tech was losing her patience my sister. My sister apologized to her but didn't receive any reassurance from the nail tech at all. My sister who is one to take things in stride tried to make conversation with the nail tech, but the only topic of conversation the nail tech was willing to offer was how tired she was and that my sister was her last appointment for the day, the nail tech rushed through the appointment. Least to say that my sister was not happy with her manicure, the gel placement was terrible, the gel was placed too far from her cuticle and looked as if she had at least few days of growth, the gel also wasn't placed all the way to the edge of her nail bed, what i mean by that is that if you looked at her nails from the side you could see a gap from the gel to her own fingernail.
My sister let the receptionist know that she wasn't pleased by the final result, the tech then offered my sister to fix the manicure, unfortunately my sister could not stick around for another 45 min to have it fixed, my sister has two children under 3 years of age at home and is a foster mom to two disabled teens at home, so no she could not wait. The receptionist told my sister that the manager was "in the back" but the manager would be calling her to address her concerns...my sister never received a phone call.
I really wished that she had the experience that I've had at Boudoir, the fact that the manager never bothered to call her back was really disappointing. At least an apology for her experience would have been nice.
I"m writing this review, because my sister would never and also because like i said along with her babies and 2 disabled teens at home she also works full time, I on the other hand have two kids that are old enough to take care of themselves (for the most part) and work full time...so yes I have time for this.
Even though I have never had a bad experience at Boudoir I will not be going back.

Not quite sure about some of the other bad reviews I have read on Google but I think Boudoir is one of the top nail salons in San Diego. They have an amazing selection of nail technicians to choose from who all do amazing work. The location is super nice and it is the perfect place to throw a birthday party!
