I have been going to New York Hair & Nails for 4 years. I have had my hair done by Michelle, Tony and Sam. They are artists! I have been to so many salons through the years, usually disappointed in the results and the experience. But Michelle, Tony and Sam really take the time to provide a beautiful cut every time!

I went there to get my hair done for my wedding. It was an absolute nightmare. This was my first time going to this salon for anything and it was made clear that unless you some how know them personally, you are not worth their time. Michelle was coloring another person's hair when I came in for my appt. While she was still focusing on that customer, she started to help me. I told her specifically what I wanted which was very simple... so simple, that the only reason I didnt do it myself was because my friend gave me money to go get my hair done there as a gift for the wedding. While she was curling my hair, she kept going back and forth between myself and her previous customer. I am not one to cause a scene and I hate confrontation so i kept my mouth shut and prayed that I would make it to my wedding on time. I politely corrected her twice when I noticed that the curls were not the way I wanted them and that they were frizzing. I had a long night ahead of me and my hair does not stay styled unless you use a lot of product. Michelle didnt care. In fact, once her cousin or whoever it was came in showing her pictures of color she wants to color her hair next, I dont think Michelle cared if I walked out her salon looking like a poodle. So between the previous customer, Michelles young relative/friend, and the receptionist begging her to let her go to Safeway with the male stylist for lunch, I was trying everything I could to hold back tears. I wish I would have had the guts to stand up for myself right then and there because then I wouldnt have had to spend $75 to be treated like crap...ON MY WEDDING DAY. I had to completely re do my hair the way I orginally wanted it and the way I should have just done it in the first place myself. After walking out of the salon and getting the car I completely lost it, cried my eyes out and rushed to my house to try and fix what Michelle did... brush out the frizzy curls, untangle the tease, and wash my bangs because she plastered them to my face. I am writing this to prevent any future heartache for people who do not normally go here. They dont care and its not worth it. Just go somewhere else and avoid all this unneccessary drama. And to Michelle, Im not sure if you are married or not but I would think you could appreciate how important a girl's hair is to them on their wedding day, just your respect, a better attitude, and attention would have made me happy.
