Really nice place! The waitress we had was amazing, and I wish I could remember her name to put on here. The food was really good, but had to remove one star for pricing. It is quite a bit more expensive than most places around this area for the same items.

I live in Gilmer and I've eaten at Open Range under the old and the new management and I absolutely love it. The food is great. The service is the friendliest you will find in East Texas. The price is reasonable. To the naysayers, maybe check your entitlements at the door! Open Range is by far the best family sit-down, dine-in restaurant within a hundred miles. I'm not a drinker so I can't speak to the bar, but I love the music that gets played.

Chicken fried steak was the best I've had in a long time. I will definitely be going back. Great service on top of that.

The food was good, the waitstaff very good, however the bar staff was either new, having technical difficulties, no change issues (coin box unavailable?) Understaffed, whatever... Priorities missed out on a fair amount of sales. Overall a nice experience but could have been much better.

First of all the prices online are not the same as when you get there. Suppose to be 10.99 for chicken fried steak it was 16.99. Then you could not eat it taste like someone poured whole salt shaker in it and the meat tastes old. The green beans were nasty tasted like they have been sitting on stove all day. Mashed potatoes only good thing. Kids burger is a hockey puck for sure will never go back.
