If I could give this sorry excuse of a school ZERO stars I would. This school is dirty, ratchet, ghetto, and a waste of time. Most of the teacher can’t do hair themselves and/or their hair always look horrible! How are they going to teach when they never look up to par? The administrator, Wendy, who as you can see from other reviews as being mentioned as a con artist and rude is worse than anything you will ever imagine. She will make your time there close to impossible. All she cares about is money and taking your hours away so you can file an extension and she can get more money out of you. The facility is dirty. There has been smeared feces in one of the bathroom stalls for months. The hair salon where they service Clients is crawling with roaches. Also, anyone looking to get a good service shouldn’t even go to the hair salon because being that the teaching is so subpar, you’re bound to leave the chair unsatisfied if you’re looking to get anything but a wash and set. Long story short, avoid this school at allllll costs! It’s not worth the headache or the bull you have to deal with and they surely don’t deserve your financial aid.

Amazing esthetics / beauty school. Well kept and the teacher is beyond patient and very informative. I took away a lot from this school to bring out into my new profession.

I went to The american beauty school eight years ago for a nail course and it was everything I wanted in a school, reasonable price, small class, and a helpful teacher who was japanese, which helped me out enormously in vocabulary, and understanding how to do certain things.

I am a curent full time student here and I warn you, BEWARE!!! This is a poor excuse of a school and the teachers and administration are absolutely despicable. Let me begin by saying that you won't even learn the basics of doing hair at this sorry school. There is no curriculum, so your teachers basically get paid to stand there and crack jokes and tell you what you CAN'T do with your time instead of providing you with instruction. They don't teach anything!! The only thing that comes in your cosmetology kit as far as tools is a thermal curling iron. 2 mannequins come in the cosmetrology kit that will bald so badly you won't even be able to use them. I've been in this school for 4 months and am soon transitioning to the downstairs portion where I will be actually seevicting customers. I have yet to get a coloring class out of this school. This is not a school to come to if you know nothing about hair. You will without a doubt be a crappy hairstylist, if u even get to pass your test to be licensed. The head person in charge of the school, Ms. Wendy is a rude, despicable, money hungry, con artist. If you are in the bathroom she will deduct an hour from your hours. Her mission is to get you to lose as many hours so that you can file for an extension and she can get more money out of financial aid. She is very rude and makes up different rules everyday at her convenience. If you decide to become a full time student here, you are suppose to receive 5 hours of instruction time (that you don't receive) and then when the part timers leave, you're stuck fiddling with your mannequin because the teachers aren't allowed to teach anything after they leave. When you are downstairs servicing clients, the teachers mix the relaxer, hair dyes, and bleaching products for you, therefore you will not learn how to do this once you leave this school. To sum it all up, this school is one big waste of your time, financial aid, and money. The only reason I still come is because I have a goal to graduate and I refuse to have to pay money back to a school that I didn't finish. Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT COME TO THIS SCHOOL!

I have nothing agents the school, what I do have a issue with is one of the teachers they now have working as a instructor is a very dishonest person, his name is( Blake Davis.)I met him a year ago at a salon and commissioned his to make me a hairpiece. I gave him a old one for color sample and money for the new one and the fedex charge. This was April 6th 2017..... he told me it would be done before May 15Th 2017. Well I am still waiting. I have contacted him several times, in the begainig my messages were kind. After my due date And no response I realized it was a loss and he was a flake. I called the last 2 salon’s he worked at and they also had the same experience. One told me he took clients from them, due to that they let him go. The other told me he took money from them and they also let him go. Not sure if he still is a teacher with the American Beauty School bit if he is still working for them (zip up your hand bags0 if he is anywhere close to you. I also am a licensed cosmetologist and trusted him. Be couscous of this so-called professional.
