I have gone to this nail shop for 10+ years. I was told by Kathy the owner that the shop would be closed for remodeling, she has taken on another endeavor a restaurant. She additionally stated she would contact me when the shop reopened for continued appts. The restaurant has become her priority and she is no longer doing nails. How did I find this out by CALLING MYSELF TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT, as she never contacted me to inform me the shop was back open. This is extremely poor business etiquette , particularity for clients who have been loyal to you ever since you were located on Orcas St. SHAMEFUL KATHY!!!

Filthy! #1 problem for me here is that this place is incredibly filthy- walls, counter tops, windows, floors are like they haven't been cleaned- ever. Even the manicure stations have a thick layer of a old dust wherever hands do not always touch. So it's right in your face while getting a mani. It's truly disgusting; I had to stop looking around because there was more and more and I felt like I being contaminated. With filth like that it's a safe bet that they don't sterilize tools & tubs! Walls have dirt so old it's blackened. No gloves used, of course. I was so happy to get out of there.

Just recently went there the lady sanded through my nail and I was bleeding all over all she could say was oh what happened. I told her she sanded through my nail. She went on to do a crappy job of doing my acrylic nails, after asking several times to please fix only to get excuses on why they look good to her! Nails are sideways and not straight. I will never recommend for anyone to go to. It is also very dirty there and I don't ever want to go back after being charged 30 dollars for this job and the board posting prices clams 25 dollars. DO NOT GO HERE.

My mother and I were going to a wedding the next day, and while doing all the other things, we forgot about getting a manicure and pedicure. Around noon, we went to our usual place and they were completely full. Same with another place a few blocks down. Getting desperate, we found this place, and went in. The first thing we thought was, "What is that smell?" It's a disgusting smell, like rotten eggs combined with seafood-restaurant's-dumpster-after-two-weeks-aroma. We walk in, and there's two other customers there, and the lady at the back tells us to pick a color without even so much as looking at us. I shrug it off, already tired and just wanting a nice mani-pedi. We went up to the nail polish stands and my mom went immediately to the reds, and I went through them all. Nearly 99% of all the nail polishes were old. If it wasn't surrounded by a layer of oil at the top, it was completely dried out. I found an okayish looking one, and gave it to the lady. My mom gave up after looking for ten minutes and went with the newest looking one. We sat down, and the ladies started up the water. It was okay for a second. Then one of them got on the phone, and the other left to talk to a girl in the back, and my tub's water nearly overflowed. My mom's feet were already swollen, so she asked the lady on the phone to turn off the hot water. She said it clearly, and the lady keeps on going, "What? What you say? What? Water is already hot. What? Water is fine." Okay then. Once both of them came back, they started making faces at scrubbing our feet. The woman doing mine wasn't wearing a mask, and the other was. Neither were wearing gloves. Mine gave me a massage, and the woman doing my mom's barely scrubbed her feet and left it at that. When they started doing our nails, they didn't do a base coat. If it's a top+base coat, that's understandable, but this one was a old, clumping clear coat that looked like it came out of the 99 cents bin at the drugstore. She didn't let mine properly dry, and she didn't even bother to clean up around the cuticle. When she told us our total, I was pissed. We paid, we left. Completely horrid experience. Pros: None. Cons: Bad customer service. Old and cheap nail polish. Rude. Over expensive. Terrible service. The place smells bad. They're all constantly talking over one another. Unsanitary. (There was a lady eating pizza at the work station in the front.)
