I went in to the salon to go lighter blonde. The hairstylist took 3 hours to process my hair. When she was finally drying it, we saw that the toner left my hair brassy. She tried another toner and it left the color the same. After getting advice from another stylist, she tried another toner. This time, my hair turned an ashy brown. At this point, I was 4 hours into my appointment. With no other choice, I had to have my hair washed 5 times with a cleansing shampoo and a chlorine wash just to get some of the toner off. After 4.5 hours, I was left a shade darker, and my hair was very damaged. To say I was upset is an understatement. The salon still charged me and after 5 days of talking to them I have yet to get refunded.

This place is awful from the customer service to how the employees treat the vendors at this store. I went to the Escondido Ulta about a week ago as I was walking in I hear a blond employee screaming and belittling one of the MAC employees she made her cry, walking in to that you could cut the tension with a knife. Then that same blond continued to talk bad about the MAC girl with the long red hair after she went to take a breather and clean up her makeup from crying. Realized she wasn't a MAC employee when I saw her in the salon doing someones hair later (the rude blond). As all this is going on I asked the girl who was by the cash wrap about a product that I had called about the night before she told me that they didn't carry it when I knew they did. So I asked her if the girl who I spoke with the night before knew more about her store than she did. Her grand excuse was it was her third day back from being off. My surprise was that she works at this store and had no clue where things were I would have walked out had I not looked myself. As I was asking her for help another rude employee interrupted us to tell her to help someone else after seeing she was talking to me. On my own I found the items I was looking for and went to stand in line. While in line the same girl who could not help me after cashing out the customer in front of me was getting her makeup done by the same rude employee who ordered the cash wrap girl to help someone else earlier while she was helping me. So instead of helping the people in line the hispanic girl behind the cash wrap once again was extremely rude by not acknowledging that I was next in line to pay instead she chose to let the other rude girl to do her makeup in front of everyone else in line. I will never shop at this store again. Being that I have worked for a few cosmetics brands LARGE EMPIRES I would not hire employees like this. When I suggested she should walk around the store to get familiar with the products at her store before her shift starts she had nothing but excuses. LAZY, RUDE, INDIFFERENT employees shouldn't be in the beauty industry. I will never recommend this location to any of my family, and friends either.

If I could give then 0 stars I would - the service was that terrible. I was there for the brow bar and was told to come back 30 minutes later. 30 minutes later came, I returned, excited to get my brows done and I still waited 10+ minutes for the brow lady at which point I ended up leaving. The manager had very poor communication skills and was clearly saying things just to please me, but it was actually not pleasing to hear excuse after excuse. It was bad. Really bad.

I'm a huge Ulta fan, but the San Marcos one is super out of my way since I come from San Diego for work. Absolutely love this location and you can tell they trained their staff very well! I was offered help multiple times and they were all very nice, even though I came in very close to closing time. This location seemed incredibly clean and organized. Also, seemed like they carried more than San Marcos, but that could just be my imagination!

Very poor customer service... I know it's a new store and all but they hired people who don't even have a clue on prices of getting brows and hair done. I'm taking my money elsewhere. Bye ULTA. Hello Sephora💝
