The chairs were uncomfortable and the actual mani-pedi was awful. The paint is splotchy and different thicknesses in different areas. It looks cheaply done and half-assed with bubbles in all the paint. I definitely will not be coming back to this overpriced, low quality salon.

Where do I begin? I made a couples reservation for Julep pedicures for our wedding anniversary. What you get: - Very Friendly Staff - Rushed Basic Pedicure with foot massage and paraffin treatment - Portable work station (overglorified bucket and office chair) - bottle of polish to take home - beverage What you don’t get: - Massage chair - pedicure basin with flowing water - privacy or spa like environment The technician also accidentally sanded the skin off of two spots on my foot and ankle with a dry emery board. The bleeding didn’t stop throughout the pedicure and I went home wearing a bandage. I would have stopped the pedicure as soon as I started bleeding and left, but I was hoping my husband was enjoying his experience. I also didn’t want to hurt the technician’s feelings, who felt terrible. We agreed the experience felt rushed (thank God on my part) and not worth the price. No discount was offered, after my bleeding issue. I left feeling bewildered and ripped off. What did I just pay $148 (+ gratuity) for? Is it a green salon? I read that the business supports women and women’s charities... That’s great! But we needed an experience to remember that competes with other salons. I’ve had many pedicures, all levels of salons and this was my first regrettable experience.

I'm reviewing the waxing, specifically. I have been twice for underarm waxes and gotten two different estheticians. Both were great and very friendly! Pricing is reasonable, and usually they have some sales for polish and makeup you can look at while you wait.

The place was clean and reception was friendly, hot tea while you wait etc. However, I was expecting a better experience for the price I paid. I appreciate their using nontoxic and environmentally friendly products but it was so uncomfortable. Either the chairs were too high or the tables too low. The way I had to sit was so awkward. The girls who did our nails weren't very friendly and they continually turned around to watch the television. My girl kept getting polish all over my skin and then scraping it off super hard with her own nail. The finished product was sub-par and basically looked like I did it myself at home, which is specifically why I go to nail salons and don't do my own nails. Not what I expected from a chain type company or a nail salon in the heart of Bellevue for that matter.

I have been going to julep for almost a year now for pedicures and have had an amazing experience every time. Everything they use is organic and non toxic so the place doesn't smell like the $20 nail salons down the street. They are more expensive but in my opinion it's worth it. You get what you pay for. I highly recommend this place.
